Well, I'm pretty close to being done with this game. I've probably dropped over 20-25 hours into that Co-Op Mode, and I have most of the Challenges complete. I wrapped-up all the kill-related ones today before the servers were slowly taken down around 7 PM, and thento same Syndicate as me that's willing to die and revive a lot, I'll clear the remaining challenges to get 100% in Co-Op and a well-deserved 55th Platinum trophy. Considering I never expected to dump this much time into this game, let
alone try to get all the trophies after looking at the list, I'm pretty pleased with my efforts. It'll be nice to
finally move on to a different game after 1.5 weeks of concentrated Syndicate play, though.
Why not just call the game "Sci-Fi Shooter #2,435"? Why dredge up the Syndicate name if you're not actually going to do a Syndicate game?
I suppose it depends on what your definition of a "Syndicate game" is. Fallout 3 is certainly a Fallout game despite changing to a completely different genre from Fallouts 1-2. And I can certainly say that I would never have played Fallout 3 if it hadn't moved to a style I actually enjoy playing.
Syndicate seems to get the whole "world dominated by evil corporations constantly assaulting each other with cyborg agents that can enslave people with the internet" thing pretty well. The story's weak, which is unfortunate, but I thought Starbreeze did a fantastic job on the atmosphere and setting (and the integration of the 1st person perspective is particularly well-done). It's just a pity the game doesn't really do much with it in SP. The Co-Op is fantastic, though. It's probably only second only to Portal 2's, IMO.
