A downloadable program will be able to fix your save file.

A recently discovered bug in the Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword will soon be fixable via a downloadable program from Nintendo.

The bug, encountered late in the game, made it so you were not able to progress further. Nintendo had previously recognized the problem and revealed instructions on how to avoid the bug.

For those already stuck with the bad save file, Nintendo will be releasing a fix. A downloadable program will be able to repair your save file so you can progress in the game. Details on when this program would become available are currently unknown. Nintendo is giving those without an internet connection the choice to send in their SD card or Wii to also address the problem.

Hurray, a save-file-fixing program. While a patch to the game would've been idea, at least this gets stuck games going again.

This is great news.

Now, what percentage of websites who ran "Nintendo can't fix Zelda glitch - doesn't know what internet is" type stories will run "Nintendo able to fix Zelda glitch" stories?

Dude, do you really think Nintendo deserves applause and praise for putting out a patch when the entire console industry has been doing that for at least 5 years now?  It's nice of Nintendo to finally be up-to-date with the industry as of 2006, but I don't think they deserve praise for it.  This was their screw-up, after all.
There was a Signature here. It's gone now.

Huge props to Nintendo for being able to fix the save files. The reason everyone is congratulating Nintendo is because the Wii cannot patch games because of the way it is designed and the limited internal memory. A lot of people lost hope but Nintendo came through with a viable solution.

Where did I make mention of praise or anything even positive?  If a site found it important enough to report the bug, it should be just as important to report the fix - that's just balanced reporting.

Please don't go looking for reasons to jump on my posts - we disagree enough over real things. =)
