3DS Sequel to ThruSpace Arrives in Japanese eShop

ThruSpace is now in stereoscopic 3D.

Shissou Surinuke Anatousu, a new 3DS downloadable title, was announced by President Iwata at the Nintendo Direct Conference today, and is already available on Japanese eShop at 800 yen. This game is a sequel to the WiiWare title Surinuke Anatousu (also known as ThruSpace in North America), and was developed by the same developer, KeysFactory.

Judging from the trailer, basic gameplay appears to be the same as the previous title's; namely, a player moves and rotates a tetrimino-like block cluster flying deep into space and must pass it through variously shaped holes.

The most obvious difference from the original is the inclusion of stereoscopic 3D visuals, which is very effective because of the game's perspective. In addition, this sequel is set in ancient relics and has a humorous mythical story -- block clusters are guardian deities of the Creator Anatus.

Other new features include two multiplayer modes. One is a normal competitive mode between two systems where the game has been downloaded. The other is a single-system two-player mode. There, the players, while playing competitively, share a single 3DS, each holding the same system with a hand side-by-side.

Have the original on WiiWare. Very fun but challenging. Especially, when the game starts to speed up.
