Sega announced at a press event today that two Marvel properties, Captain America and Thor, will be receiving 3DS games. Previously, Captain America: Super Soldier and Thor: God of Thunder were only know to be bound for Wii, DS, PSP, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3, and it was also revealed today that the latter two versions will feature stereoscopic 3D.
It is not clear who is developing the 3DS editions as a number of companies are involved in the other versions. Captain America: Super Soldier for Wii is under development by High Voltage Software. A teaser for the title was included as part of the Conduit 3DS demo shown at GDC 2011, but it is currently unknown whether this has any relation to Sega's announcement today.
Red Fly Studio is making the Wii version of Thor: God of Thunder, while WayForward is creating a completely different 2D version for Nintendo DS. Griptonite Games' rendition of Captain America: Super Soldier also features 2D graphics.
An inquiry has been sent to the companies for more information.
