Have you read this article http://www.planetgamecube.com/editorials.cfm?action=profile&id=122
I would buy the Gamecube SP in a heart beat. I think this is exactly what Nintendo needs to do. What do you think?

I think it's too far down the road to make a new Gamecube SP, specially with lo sales as it is now. Gameboy is popular, and Nintendo knew they would make a profit out of it.

Gamecube SP would be a big risk to produce, manufacture, and sell. Sicne Gamecube itself sells slow. Adding a new, slick, system won't do much. Besides most of the Nintendo-fans already have their own systems. Why buy another?

Personally i woldn't go out and and lay down 200 bucks for a piece of hardware I already have, but I'm sure those to dont have a gamecube already would go for it.

Well, I would sell mine Black Gamecube on ebay and then buy the GAMECUBE SP. I was going to do that when I saw the Platinum, but never got around to it.

Here something of my personal experience with Gamecube:

Whenever I ever mention Gamecube to any of my 20+ old friends they say that its the kiddy system and a couple of people asked me if Nintendo still made games. I was SHOCKED and took my shoe of and wacked them with it, to knock a little sense into them. Anyways back to the point. A cool looking Gamecube could really make the difference as people could show off there COOL system, not something that looks like a lunch box or a toaster(gamecube in it current state).

Thing is, the GBA SP addressed a major problem with then current SP design -- lack of a backlight. The rechargeable battery and sleeker design were definite bonuses, but the backlght was the main advantage. With the proposed Gamecube SP, the main advantage would be DVD playback. For the millions who own PS2, Xboxes, and/or DVD players, DVD playback isn't a feature important enough to make them buy the updated console.

If anything, i'd like it if they released the Q over here, with an updated remote. i'd buy one in a second; i'm a sucker for sexy, yet functional electronics (even though i have a DVD player).

if they did do this, and it was flat(like a dvd player) and played cd files and dvds i would definitely get it.
and even more, if it had a broadband adapter included with a disk tray it would be godly..
