Take a trip to the old west, or turn a parrot into a burgeoning farm.

This week in Nintendo downloads, we have five new games: one Virtual Console game, two WiiWare titles, and three Nintendo DSiWare releases.

The only WiiWare downloadable title for the week is Fenimore Fillmore "The Westerner" from Revistronic.  This 1,000 Wii Point ($10) download is an adventure game that takes place in the old west. The game features a story that pits cowboys vs. ranchers and contains many colorful characters.

The lone Virtual Console release this week is Samurai Showdown III, originally a Neo Geo release from 1995.  The game features one-on-one fighting and a beautiful graphic art style with classic Japanese imagery.   The game is available now for 900 Wii Points ($9).

The first Nintendo DSiWare game this week is Simply Mahjong from Engine Software, and features 50 different puzzles for Mahjong players to enjoy.  The game is a single-player only experience, and is available now for 200 Nintendo DSi Points ($2) in the DSi Shop.

The second DSiWare game released this week is My Exotic Farm from BiP Media.  The game is a farm simulator that hands players nothing but a parrot and an empty field.  As you sell parrot feathers, you can afford to plant things in your farm.  The game supports exchanging animals with other players who are playing either My Farm or My Exotic Farm.  It is available now from the DSi Shop for 200 Nintendo DSi Points ($2).

The final DSiWare game released this week is Music on: Acoustic Guitar.  The game has predefined chords, and up to 900 different chords to sample.  The program instructs you how to place your fingers on the frets so that you can take the game and learn how to play a real guitar.  Music on: Acoustic Guitar is available now from the DSi Shop for 200 Nintendo DSi Points ($2).

At least VC is getting some love, even if it's a repeat of a game in a collection that's $15 on the Wii.

Baby steps... baby steps.
