Mario posters, Game & Watch Collection 2, and Grill Off! with Ultra Hand are heading to North America.

Club Nintendo users will soon be able to get new Mario posters, Game & Watch Collection 2 for DS, and Grill Off! with Ultra Hand for WiiWare, according to Nintendo of America at today's media summit.

The Mario posters will feature original artwork. Both of the other items are already available for users in Japan. Game & Watch Collection 2 is the sequel to one of the first Club Nintendo rewards, which has since sold out. Grill Off! is based off of one of Nintendo's old toys, the Ultra Hand.

I think Game & Watch Collection 2 only has like 3 games (if it's the same one Japan got).

*turns to face a wall, and then starts pounding his forehead into it.*

Nintendo continues to completely not get it when it comes to Club Nintendo rewards.

What are you talking about? A DS game and a WiiWare game, pretty good.

What are you talking about? A DS game and a WiiWare game, pretty good.

It's a frickin' Game & Watch game and a WiiWare game that just sounds like uninteresting shovelware.  As we've covered rather extensively in other threads, we still don't have soundtracks for some bizarre reason, among other notable omissions.

Even in Japan though, the soundtracks are the end of year bonus and not part of the average Reward Catalog (for example, the Super Mario Galaxy soundtrack was one of the end of year bonus choices for those that reached Platinum status in 2007). Nintendo announces some pretty cool things and you still complain. Do I wish they would offer something like that baby blue Wii Remote? Yes, but these are some pretty good rewards.

You know, if it were just me you could make a case that I'm just picky, but I'm far from the only person on these forums who's built up a large number of coins on Club Nintendo without a single thing worth purchasing.  Even the staff of this site can't bring themselves to call the things on that service worth purchasing.  So forgive me if I'd like to spend my 920 coins on something better than folders, playing cards, and retro games I don't want for a handheld I don't own.  As for the soundtrack status in Japan, I don't care if they were only given out as special Platinum bonuses in Japan.  They're still stuff that Nintendo could bring over here practically for free, and I'd pick up every single one of them (and probably buy more Nintendo games if it meant more coins I could put towards them).

I'd actually be pretty ok with the WiiWare game if it were something like a mini-New Super Mario Bros. or something, but Grill Off?  Really?

Nintendo, I want free **** for buying your products!

Okay, loyal customer; here's some fun stuff you can have.

I don't want that ****!  I want better ****!
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

I wonder what the posters look like, I'm glad they are new artwork instead of reusing the same images used to promote games. I might get the Ultra Hand game if it turns out to be as weird as it sounds.

The posters might be interesting. While I appreciate the effort to provide something we can actually use/play, the DS and WiiWare games don't sound very good. I too have a lot of coins with nothing interesting to spend them on. When you spend a lot of time and effort registering games and filling out surveys, it is reasonable to expect a worthwhile reward. It's not like Nintendo just sends this stuff to you automatically -- they are rewards for your input. So, it is completely fair to criticize the rewards being offered, especially when we can compare to the Japanese and even European (Stars for Wii Points) services.

I've said it before and I'll say it again - PM me if you want Wii/DS points in exchange for the goodies offered from Club Nintendo.

Also G&W 1 isn't sold out.  It was for awhile, but they bought it back.
G&W 2 is pretty neat.  It has a weird combo of Octopus and Parachute that's pretty fun.
Just some random guy on the internet who has a different opinion of games than you.
