I need help. how do you get into the northern temple (in the rocks)? I think you need the roc's cape or feather. where do you get it?

Not sure which temple you're referring to, but neither of those items were introduced until later games.

if you're referring to the tower on Death Mountain in A Link to the Past, you need to go through the warp and use the mirror while in the dark world to get to the higher part of the mountain.

you need to go outside of the dungeon through the door on the left, and around the cliff to the back/top of the area. then you pick up some stones to go into a cave.
