Monster Hunter Tri to Support Wii Speak
« on: February 01, 2010, 11:02:50 AM »

Nintendo confirms the addition of chat functionality, and a new bundle to go along with it.

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/news/20871

Today Nintendo of Europe issued a press release confirming that the Western version of Capcom's Monster Hunter Tri will feature Wii Speak compatibility. This often-requested functionality will allow gamers to talk to each other while hunting monsters online, creating strategies and assisting each other in real time.

While reconfirming an April 2010 release window, Nintendo also revealed a third bundle for Europe that contains Wii Speak in addition to a Classic Controller Pro. Gamers will thus be able to buy the game by itself, the game bundled with a Classic Controller Pro, and the game with a Classic Controller Pro and Wii Speak. No pricing for the third bundle was detailed.

It is not currently known if the Monster Hunter Tri Wii Speak bundle will be brought to North America.

Between this and adding online play for the Western release of TvC, it's nice to see Capcom putting forth some effort into their Wii titles. Imagine how much better things would be if others followed suit!

This is a game where I think Wii Speak would actually work as opposed to The Conduit.

Day 1 purchase for me now. I have been able to resist Wii Speak until now, but this game is the sort of thing this piece of hardware is made for. Classic Controller Pro tempts me as well.

Funny how third parties care more about Wii Speak than Nintendo.

I fully expected this after Capcom mentioned they were "looking into it". When that paid off for online in TvC, I knew it probably would for Wii Speak as well.

Still not sure if I would like Monster Hunter, but this news makes it a lot more interesting.

With Nintendo footing the bill for advertising and marketing, Capcom better do all they can to make sure this game is everything that it can be.

If Nintendo is gonna provide the hype, then Capcom better deliver.

Tecmo had their chance with FF4, and it's a shame they chose to not deliver.

This makes me glad the I didn't trade my Wii Speak in along with The Conduit.

I'm probably grab this one. It's the closest thing(as of yet) to an MMORPG I'll ever play.
Mission...complete?
