Actually SNES had one of the best commercials of all time. It featured Mortal Kombat 2 among other games (even showing Reptile doing a Fatality, IIRC), and had the Butthole Surfers "Who Was in My Room Last Night?" as the music. It's probably the best commercial Nintendo has ever made.

I actually kind of wish I'd kept my old Nintendo VHS tapes.  I had the Mario 64; Star Fox 64; and Donkey Kong 64/Jet Force Gemini tapes, and they were always good for a laugh.

The commercial for Super Smash Brothers on the Nintendo 64 will probably always be my favourite. The one for Paper Mario was the worst N64 commercial ever, it's one reason why I didn't buy it at the time.

Man, I'd forgotten that the two "goons" in that video were wearing Sony and Sega shirts and "tortured" a Mario doll.  lol...

The highlight of that video was seeing the Zelda 64 beta in motion. Man, how that game changed.

Are you sure Nintendo made it? Mortal Kombat is a Midway franchise...
