The Speed Gamers have announced that they will be hosting a Final Fantasy-themed gaming marathon in order to raise money for autism. The team will play all Final Fantasy games from 1 on the NES to 12 on the Playstation 2, with all funds generated going to ACT Today.

The event will start on Friday July 17 and will continue for the rest of the week, with the top 5 donators receiving Final Fantasy-themed gifts including t-shirts and bags.

I think there have been many gaming marathons because they are easier to create than a charity drive and has made a lot of money.  I would, however, compare the two methods to see which one is truly effective.
