Mafia - starting badwagons
« on: September 13, 2007, 03:04:58 AM »
I'm not very good at getting other players to vote with me, and was wondering if anyone had any tips? Starting a successful bandwagon is often a bad idea, however, sometimes it's necessary for survival.
“...there are those who would...say, '...If I could just not have to work everyday...that would be the most wonderful life in the world.' They don't know life. Because what makes life mean something is purpose.  The battle. The struggle.  Even if you don't win it.” - Richard M. Nixon

The easiest way to get a bandwagon going is to look for the opportunity. If your fellow players seem unsure of who to vote for, then throw out a name. Get an associate to vote the same way immediately after your post to get the ball rolling. Also, it helps to bandwagon a townie, so the mafia can vote out an innocent and later blame you for starting the bandwagon.

Just tell me or Khush who needs to die and we'll make it happen.

Simply Vote Khush before Stevey votes Khush, and he will follow...hopefully creating a Bandwagon.

The more important question is after starting a successful bandwagon that accidentally kills a townie, how do you avoid being voted out yourself the next day?

I'd tell you but after yesterday's bandwagon, I'm dead.

Bandwagons or badwagons, or are they the same thing?

Looks like that strategy no longer works.

I thought that Stevey vote was ridiculous. He should be allowed to vote as he pleases. At some point it will be forbidden to randomly vote on day one if it keeps up. What happens if someone else votes for the same person all the time? I thought 'vendettas' we part of the fun in this game?

Maybe I just don't trust Pale in mafia farther than I can spit (and I suck at spitting).

It would be if the one being voted for actually REACTED to it. You're supposed to be all  :o, not  8).

But that's part of the mystery, the suspense, the intrigue and the mystique! Who will blink first and who chickens. A test of mental mettle! The thrill of the hunt-the kill! An intellectual battle to whits end!

The true best way to start a bandwagon is to cast enough suspicion on yourself that one's started against you, then use logic traps to set up one of those who would accuse you, and bandwagon against that person.  Unless you're a townie.  Then just collect evidence, and use a bandwagon against yourself as bait.  Soon after, people will bandwagon the one you point fingers at.  Mwahahaha.

I never did get the meaning of that message. And to be honest, this isn't much of a post. I just wanted to have all the community forums show me as the last poster. Maybe I can claim this as community service. I apologize for that last joke. It completely crossed the line of good taste and logical sense. But this doesn't. Three men walk into a bar. A rabbi, a bishop and a buddhist. I forget the rest of the joke but your mother is a whore.
