They don't exactly make games targeted towards the masses.

All the more reason to port their Wii games to another console.  You guys think the Wii is the hardcore niche console?  Bullshit.  The Wii is the mainstream console.  The Wii is designed for the masses.  Did you guys forget about Nintendo's whole sales strategy with the blue ocean market and everything?  You think their strategy of non-games and sequels is to target the niche hardcore nut?

I find this news very disappointing though not at all surprising.  It's just like the Gamecube: we lose our exclusives but all the multiplatform games go to every platform BUT Nintendo's.  But hey we can brag that our console sold the best so I guess we "win" or whatever.  Nintendo actually was right when they said they were not competing with Sony and MS.  They're not.  The Wii is something different outside the "normal" videogame market.  Only the hardcore Nintendo fans see it as being the same, and that's mostly because we WANT it to be the same.  Nintendo finished first place in a race of one.

Suda51 games have always done quite well on Nintendo consoles, not only that but games like Little King's Story will get mutilated on the HD consoles along with Muramusa. The games that usually do well on the HD consoles are big budget, graphical power house games, while on the Wii the market is different and more accepting of more niche titles like NMH, light gun games, and various other titles that would never even get noticed on other consoles. Could you argue that is because there aren't as many core games on Wii? Sure I suppose but it doesn't change the fact those games get far more exposure on Wii which contrary to popular belief does have a diverse group of people owning it which is why games like CoD have sold very well on the console.

The PS2 and DS are both. The DS is even a blue ocean system and everything.

I agree.  Those are more the standards that the Wii should strive to be like.

You guys think the Wii is the hardcore niche console?  Bull****.  The Wii is the mainstream console.  The Wii is designed for the masses.

The PS2 and DS are both. The DS is even a blue ocean system and everything.

And both are also the home of obscure, niche titles.

As for the news, I find this to be a very odd decision. Like its been explained already Marvelous doesn't strike me as the sort of mega publisher that CAN afford to make HD projects across multiple consoles. This is the opposite of Majesco where they decided to embrace the DS and Wii once big projects failed to give them profit.

I still wonder if Devil May Boobies from Platnium will sell on the HD consoles (it might, just for th DOA fans alone)

This makes me angry because of all the things Bayonetta is, tittie monster is NOT it. Also, the game is like Devil May Cry on LSD, so I don't see any reason it wouldn't sell.

I don't know if she had massive tits but I remember the trailer having so much overdone sex appeal I felt dumber just from watching it, made me feel like they think I'm a total idiot who will buy anything as long as it tones up the sexyness enough.

When the sex appeal has been racked up to Bayonetta's silly, campy levels, I hope that Platinum Games is thinking that there is an audience that will enjoy it rather than an audience that will buy because of its presence. Hmm, maybe those two are one in the same?

Personally, it looks like the "so crazy bad silly it's fun" approach for Bayonetta and dev team is doing it on purpose (the director wanted her to look like a librarian because he likes it that way iirc). Platinum Games has a dev blog on the game if you're interested/curious.
