Old poast with commentary
« on: February 19, 2008, 10:22:49 AM »
I found one of my old posts describing my love/hate of the Ds one month after launch, take a look.
Quote
I dont know how many of you guys watch g4

lol g4

Quote
or even get it in your television programming, but i do.  And to those who watch it probably know of the show called Screensavers,

CANCELLED

a quirky news show that only covers  electronic related news.

They did a horrible job at it

Quote
Well today they announced a "rumor" that the American PSP price is going to be 150.00 O_o............

FALSE PROPHECY TRY 100 DOLLARS HARDER
Quote
If this is true then there is no reason for the DS to have even a running start, the american public will say,  "do i want a hyped up mini n64 with no video or mp3 output or a ultimate machine?"
THE AMARICAN WAE OF THUNKING
Quote
I bet you they would go with the PSP despite the short battery life or the fact that they have to buy a memory stick,
VERY TRUE
Quote
heck now I think I'll go buy one for that price.

WRONG, 3 years later and I still dont have one though its becoming more tempting.

Quote
No I am not abandonning Nintendo I have already the DS, but I am not impressed with the slow trickle of lackluster games. ( and no i dont even count mario kart as a must have game)
DS DROUGHT FOR THE LOSE
Quote
They keep on saying they have over 120 games in development and they are giving me the crap of the crop.

Wow they used the same strategy on the Wii

Quote
Warioware and Yoshi are the only games people are looking forward to, and thats nintendo fans,  what about the gamers who bought the ds for non mario games.  I love mario and all but I am getting fed up of over using old nintendo franchises that arent even being updated.  How long must I play rehashed ports.

Wow its like I could read the future of the Wii
Quote
Are you seriously telling me that Nintendo couldnt make a new mario platforming game.  And please dont tell me that they are with the DS mario coming out, because seriously thats not what i wanted, i just wanted a brand new 2-d mario expierience.
I was wrong, but The new Super Mario Bros wasn't what I was looking for either.

Quote
Mario aside though, no games are coming out to even excite me, I am waiting for Goemon at least.

Goemon I heard was mediocre and never came stateside anyways.

Quote
I just feel about this overall in the end, Nintendo was given a head start, and to me they didnt suceed all that much, yes they are way ahead in sales, but even if they had 10 million people it is not the whole handheld market, and its not that hard for numbers to switch around.  Nintendo should of put some killer titles out or waited for a better launch, they've had enough time to release a crappy launch but they could of fixed it by now with some kick ass titles.

The drought did suck and made me doubt the lineup but that year ending up being an awesome year for the DS.
Quote
I work at a gaming store and mario 64 ds is the only game selling!!!!  This is how nintendo has been, and im growing tired of their ways, i am starting to  buy their systems just for their franchises.  I have a strong feeling Revolution will be just the same way.

Well it was true at the time but both my Ds and Wii collection is roughly 70% 3rd party games.

Quote
Im still happy i bought my Ds but i am becoming increasingly really pissed at nintendo,
I am fairly happy with Nintendo

Allow me..

Unfortunately, the early adopters will screw this all up and subsidize Sony's PSP early on, building hype and word of mouth (deserved or undeserved) and...bah. I guess we might as well give up on the handheld market now. There's just no beating the corporate machine.
