2. It takes skill to utilize luck.

Anyone can hit with a blue shell, few can prevent losing the race when it's used shortly before the finish line. The skill difference between a successful attack and a successful defense is massive.

That's life.

EASYCURE: I remember thinking(don't ask me why) this was a blond haired, blue eyed, chiseled athlete. Like he looked like Seigfried before he became Nightmare.

I'll try to pick this up this weekend, not sure when I can jump online.

I hear it doesn't have online.

Grab a Mushroom before you get into first.

There are just too many ways to lose your item...you can't hold on to anything for any useful amount of time.

The game doesn't give you mushrooms if you're in first though!

Stupid Mop said "grab a mushroom BEFORE you get into first".

Although that doesn't change that fact that KnowsNothing speaks the truth--lightning bolts and POW blocks always make you lose your **** when you least want to.
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

That is the most ridiculous part of MKWii for me. I can accept the crazy blue shelling, but loosing all your items is even more frustrating. At least in Double Dash you only lost two of your three mushrooms/shells.

Oh, and Vudu, you should add a comma to your last post. It sounds like you are calling Mop it up stupid. Unless you did mean to call Mop it up stupid, in which case I say you are mean.

If there are less than twelve players then it is possible to get a Mushroom in first place.

I probably dodge more POW Blocks than I get hit by, I usually find a bump or something to get off the ground before it hits. Lightning is a dust ball though, it strikes with no waning so you can't even use your item before you lose it. Even still, if I find myself in first place with a Mushroom, more often than not it will be used to dodge a blue shell.

Check back a page or two into the Mario Kart Wii topic and you'll find out the story behind that. Apparently, "Stupid Mop" is another name for the song "Hey Foxymophandlemama, That's Me" which someone had said they're going to refer to me as. Vudu hates me because I've never heard of some obscure music group called Pearl Jam.

If you shake your remote at the right moment you avoid any slowdown from a POW hit. You have to waggle right before the POW disappears.

And going back to the wheel versus controller, as my interest in MK has drastically increased, so has my enjoyment of using the waggle-mote. I used to ONLY use a GC controller. I still can't get used to the wheel but I really like having the waggle for tricks, dodging POWs and for popping wheelies. It makes it more fun for me.

I find it funny how people are appalled if they find out someone doesn't know about a certain band. Even the 'greatest' bands are missed by some people and no band has 100% universal appeal. Unless you can show me hard data where record sales/downloads are greater than the population of a country then everyone has most certainly not heard of certain 'big bands of renown'.

I know that, but you still lose your item. You have to get off the ground to dodge it completely.

True, but I feel rather special when I pull off the shake-dodge properly. Everyone else is slowed down and I maintained my speed.
