The first of the Capcom Five, Product Number 03, seems to be a disappointment.  I'm skeptical of the rest.  I know P.N. 03 was probably rushed, but I don't want to see the other exclusives from GCN's biggest third-party supporter be crap too.  Well, Resident Evil 4 looks to be on the right track...

If Viewtiful Joe is anythignlike it's building up to be so far, then Vj will more than make up for the future embarrassment and utter pile of garbage that is/will be PN03.

PS: Killer 7. WORD.

i dont know if pn03 is that bad- it wasnt hyped at all and i think it was made as a budget title (low developement costs)
from what i read it seems to be a good shooter once you get the hang of it
i would like to play pn03 though before i make any good judgement

but i have been waiting mostly for viewtiful joe- the game just looks like it will kick major major ass
the graphics are great and finally looks like it will bring some new light into the 2d world
and killer 7 looks great too

personally i think all of the capcom 5 look great and i cant wait till they release- especially vj and resident evil 4
i call the big one bitey.

Disappointment?  So far I think not honestly.

It's an arcade shooter in a vein similar to Space Harrier it seems, but with better technology and more ground based.  Personally, I think it's great that somebody finally had the balls to take arcade play and sensibility and drop it into modern technology and I'm very interested to play the title.

Take a read through some of these reviews and read the impressions at www.tokyopia.com before making a decision as to whether or not the title is up your alley.  For an oldschool gamer like myself, this game sounds really fun.

I think that if you were expecting the GC's answer to DMC then you'd be disappointed, but that's really not what the game is about.  I'm wondering if the PGC guys have gotten to play more of it yet, I'll be interested in what they think of this here 3rd person blaster.

I think we should really wait until we actually play one of the five. I mean we are basing our opinions on impressions of a game yet to even hit our shores. So Lets see what PN03 is like first. I'm looking forward to Dead Phoenix most of all but the others look good as well and I'll play PN03 before I make a judgement on whether its disappointing or not.

Hey thanks for the link to GameRankings. I hadn't even thought to look there for reviews before. It's renewed my hope in this game too. I'm sad to admit it, but I think I'm getting old. I really like FF1, and yet the reviews of FF Origins have been scathing of its gameplay. After reading those three reviews, I think I might like this too. I've never really cared about plot. In fact I think WW is the first game that has ever had its story engross me.

OK PN03 obviously wasnt impressing, but Viewtiful Joe got excellent impressions. And I have the highest hopes for Killer 7. RE4 will surly be revolutionary and Dead Phoenix could be a hit too.

On dissapointment and you claim the Capcom 5 a failure, come on, loosen up.
BTW PN03 may be the game that sells well in the US and Europe.

I think it's pretty unrealistic for any of us to expect all five of the "Capcom 5" to be amazing killer apps.  Capcom is a good developer but they're not THAT good.  Aside from Nintendo themselves I can't really think of any company that would realistically be able to make all five titles amazing.  At least one title is going to be a disappointment.  Capcom just doesn't have a good enough batting record to avoid that.  Heck they screwed up Devil May Cry 2.

Personally I think if 3 of the Capcom 5 turn out to be amazing killer apps that would be incredible.  Two would be great and is pretty realistic.  Odds are RE4 and at least one of those other titles will be a big hit.

Gamespot, IGN, and PGC are not very impressed with P.N.03 really.  Repititive levels, awkward controls, and standing & shooting mechanics seem to be the main gripe.  I'm not saying the Capcom Five will be a failure, but the first one of the group did not live up to expectations.  Maybe expectations for it were too high...

I do hear wonderful things about Viewtiful Joe.  RE4 is not coming out for a while, so that gives Capcom plenty of time to tinker with it.  Dead Phoenix and Killer 7 are tossups however.  For now, all we have is hope in reference to those two games.  However, Killer 7 is coming out in 2004, it seems like. That gives it a lot of time for Capcom to polish it.  Dead Phoenix, I'm not sure of.

Whatever the case, I hope for the best for the four remaining titles.

i still think P.N.03 looks cool.  Just a game to pick up and play, nothing that is all involving, just fun.  I am probably still gonna get it.

I agree, P.N.O.3 does look fun, so what if it does not take 40-80 hours to beat it.

I just wish it was still  witha gun and  maybe without all the butt shaking. Reminds me of that old movie... Blade runner I think it was? Been awhile I can not recall.

the graphics are stunning and her boobs shake....what else do u need. honestly though....the other 4 will be better.....the dead phoenix game looks like it could choke, but the other 3(especially killer 7 and re4) will go down as probably 2 of the top 10 best cube games......of course it would be a good idea to play at least 1 of the 5 before i pass judgement on them.......but i have good at telling whether a game will be good or not... and this is the order of how good they will be

re4
killer 7
vj
dead phoenix
pno3

what do we know about killer 7??? not that much! everything we've seen has pretty much been FMV scenes, noting of gameplay! i know Vj wont flop, and i'm pretty sure RE4 wont, but i think there is a better chance of killer 7 flopping the dead phenix

Funny how most of you seem to be eagerly anticipating Viewtiful Joe, the title with the lowest budget and the smallest team out of the Capcom five.  Not to mention its graphics are the least developed out of all five of them.  It does seem like a very good game.  I thought this title was going to be the downer of the group, but now it seems to be up there along with the potential blockbuster of RE4.
