I said this in some other thread too- I want my virtual console systems to show up so my character in Animal Crossing can play a Genesis or N64 if I plop him down in front of it.  Should be possible to include all VC systems and game you currently own in your house.

Wouldn't that be like Home, Tanookisuit?

The sun, for sorrow, will not show his head:
Go hence, to have more talk of these sad things;
Some shall be pardon'd, and some punished:
For never was a story of more woe
Than this of Sega and her Mashiro.

I want to be able to access the catalogue at any time and I would like a 'new!' tag over any item in Tom Nook's store that isn't already in my catalogue. Attempting to complete it is currently such a hassle.

I noticed something creepy in the AC City Folk trailer at the press site

http://press.nintendo.com/E32008/

At about 1:44 into it the date 9/11 pops up for less than a second. It also makes reference to a person named Katrina (hurricane). "I think i'll visit Katrina myself" is the random quote from Wolf.

Nevermind, it's 9/1. Quicktime is crap and wouldn't let me replay it.

how about exactly the same game except you can visit a city, and it has a multi player mode with voice chat, and instead of being able to use a mii as your face, you can buy a mask in the game that lets you use it.

This doesn't exactly seem to be a big leap for the franchise. The visuals still looks N64ish

It's a stylistic choice...Surely you weren't expecting a huge jump in visuals for a game like AC?

Animal Crossing is fine stylistically. That said however, even the first game showed it's N64 roots through a large array of blurry textures. So long as City Folk has sharper textures it should be good, though a higher polygon count on some items wouldn't hurt.

All of the screenshots thus far look to use a much closer camera angle as well. Was the DS version like that? I'm not sure how fond I am of seeing the horizon suddenly disappear once it gets so far away.

Suddenly disappear?  That's because the game is utilizing the same curved, "planetary" world that the DS used, which is a bit of a shame, but without it you couldn't really show the sky, so I'll forgive it...

I think the DS game had a closer look.

I would like to see the visuals evolve. Zelda and Mario haven't remained the same in appearance. My biggest request is to have lots of new tasks and things to do in the new version. AC DS played very similar to the first one. Almost identical really.

Gee, I suppose so.  Still, I like having the little NES's in the first game, and I want systems in this one.  I saw an arcade machine and a pinball game in the video, but it was during a multiplayer sequence, and I couldn't tell if you could actually play them.  Probably not, but I'd love if you could.

I sure hope you can play them, it's a stupid idea to let the player buy a videogame inside a videogame and not even give him a minigame to play. Sure, it doesn't have to be a full game but might prove useful as a testing ground for new ideas.

Damn, this thread got my hopes up, now I'm going to be disappointed when the pool table in the game doesn't let me play a game of pool like the one in Wii Play.
