Mario Golf 2
« on: July 31, 2003, 04:52:14 PM »
I just got Mario Golf Toadstool Tour.  Its a fun game, but I can't find the miniature golf.  I thought I heard that the miniature golf that was in Mario Golf 64 was gonna be in Mario Golf Toadstool Tour, but I cant find it anywhere in the menu.  Does anyone know if mini golf is in Mario Golf Toadstool Tour?  If so, how do you get to play it?

well i dont think there is a full fledged mini golf- there is a putting challenge in the side games menu though
unless it is unlockable, then i would guess no

According to Target's weekly ad (on their website) Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour "Includes TargetĀ® Bullseye tour tournament".

------

Apparently, there is a whole new course in the version that Target will be selling, exclusively. That really sucks for the rest of us who bought it elsewhere.

I'd heard that the Target thing is a code you put in, like in Mario Tennis, that opens up a tournament. I haven't hear that from anyone who did it, but just rummors. I have a feeling there will be a bunch of those tours, where you can put codes in online and get your internet ranking.

yeah the target thing is just a code you put in and you play a tournament
after the tournament you get a password that you then put in on the target tour site- www.mario-golf.com/target

So does that mean that all of the Mario Golf's sold at other stores, contain this bonus Target Tournament - if you were to obtain the special code?

Is target the only company with their own special tournamet?  If so that seems a bit odd.  Why would target have a special tournament mode in a nintendo game.

Rhoq you are exactly right- at the title screen you hold z and press start and from there you enter a code

Jdub03:  i think even hollywood video has a tounament-  www.mario-golf.com/hollywoodvideo

basically if you ever tried any of the special tournaments for mario golf on the n64 it works like that
i dont know what the codes are though- i did not buy my mario golf at target or hollywood video

i'm sure this is not a target store exclusive

and sounds like either you can enter codes for specific tournaments (like the hollywood video too)
or that the target mode was something nintendo had for the game,
just like a target mode in any other game...and then
Target stores PR had the dumb idea to claim this is a Target store exclusive......stupid....

I'd bank on mini-golf being unlockable when you connect to the GBA version, or maybe if you hunker down and complete all the other modes. I hope it's available in come capacity, and in a more inspired form than Mario Golf N64. Even if it's not there, Mario Golf GC is still awesome. The truckload of modes make me very excited about what Camelot will do with Mario Tennis.

You don't have to buy the game at Target to get the Target Tour. Enter the code, play a round, win prizes (including a Nintendo office chair, I think). Hollywoodvideo's grand prize is some mountain stuff and a ton of Nintendo merchandise. You're gonna have to be able to shoot in the low 50s, maybe even the 40s, to win either grand prize though. Personally, I just want the kickass second runner-up hat (for 500 people) in the hollywood video contest.
