Can international versions of DS play each other?
« on: December 02, 2007, 12:48:36 PM »
Has anyone brought their DS to another country and played with other DS there?

I bought a Nintendo DS Lite in USA and will go to Russia soon. Can my DS play with the ones sold in Russia?

Thank you!

I'm fairly sure the answer is yes.  DS do not have region encoding.  The DS itself is virtually identical world-wide (except for the DS in China).

They can, I have an import Japanese DS Lite that plays just fine with the American units.  There's virtually no difference other than the default language they start in out of the box.

Do note though, I don't think games from one region can play Multi-Cart with games from another region....
Just some random guy on the internet who has a different opinion of games than you.
