i apologize for the topic, im sick of the thought of another nintendo should advertise more etc thread, but like this is diferent i was wondering if any of you have ever rang up a nintendo HQ and got some posters/cut outs from them (not old ones) cause when i went out shopping today i saw a 6 foot tall Samus cut out and i want to get my hands on one i allready have alot of Gamecube style posters (official advertising ones, from when mum went to nintendo of Aus. HQ in melbourne) but they were pretty old ones when she got them.

basically my question is this, have any of you gotten posters/cut outs of current/soon to be released games?

this samus one looked rrrreally good

I don't know about offcial advertising, but I do buy the UK's NGC Magazine and every few months they include a HUGE double sided Nintendo game poster, just two months ago they had a real sweet Samus one in attack pose
"What if everything you see is more than what you see - the person next to you is a warrior and the space that appears empty is a secret door to another world? What if something appears that shouldn't? You either dismiss it, or you accept that there is much more to the world than you think. Perhaps

No I don't have anything besides what they give you out of Nintendo Power, but I did see that Samus cardboard display thing, I wanted that thing so bad! I did find this poster as well as this display unit via ebay. Hope one of those helps you out!
Sure getting shot the first few times IS annoying but knowing that after a hards days work you'll eventually get a meal.........well that just makes the day worth it.

I don't know about other places, but I know EB will usually let you have their "trash."  All you have to do is ask!  You will have to wait for quite some time after the game's release when it doesn't need the ads anymore, of course.  It really helps to be a regular (::cough::  loiter/converse every day) customer and to get on a first name basis with the employees.  The usual catch is that they'll only let you have it if you're on the preorder list.  Besides that, just be sure to be the first to ask!

Personally, I've got my name planted on the back of that nice big clear Pokemon display box thingie, y'know the one with the 3D-ish effect....  durr...  I'd love to find out what they're going to do with their GBA SP demo unit (basically the actual SP casing plus weight minus any of the actual technology inside).

hehe yeah but im impatiant ^_^ i did ask the store guy, that was the first thing i did, he said wait 6 months thats why i wanted to know if i could ring nintendo or what ever with some success, ohwell, time to get to know the EB guys near me a bit better (the store i saw the Samus cut out is miles away)

thanks for finding those for me Zomboi but like, the postage from USA to australia on something that large would be insane, especially when i would have to get it insured etc due to the damageable nature of it

Also check out Wal-Mart. I work there, and we got these huge cardboard boxes of the Wind Waker near the entrance. Ask the guy in the Electronics dept., and if he's not a complete dimwit, he would probably save it for ya, since they usually throw it out anyway. Sadly, I don't have anywhere in my current house to put something like that... I had to miss out on the huge Pokemon R/S posters they had a few weeks ago.

Go to any retailer (Big W, Kmart, etc) when they're pulling down the posters for games and such, and ask them for a few, since all they do with them is chuck em out.

I have:
-a Super Mario SUnshine poster
-Super Mario Advance 3: Yoshi's Island poster
-Conker's Bad Fur Day large N64 Box(y'know those large replicas of N64 boxes they used for ads)
-Zelda Oracle of Ages/Seasons large GBC box
-Mario Kart Super Circuit 5-foot high cut-out
-Various posters from Nintendo Gamer
-A very cool Large SSBM character line-up poster from UK's NGC Mag.
-Large Wave Race poster from NGC Mag

So start hassling the retailers. They might say yes, maybe no, but ask.

EDIT: Oh, and at the Pokemon Playoff in Sydney, they had two six-foot Samus cut-outs. Me, Chris and Lance wanted one each, but, no, they didn't let us.

WHAT WHAT WHAAAAAAT?

Metroid Prime for that poster?
ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGH!
I love you my friend!

Oh wait, you were kidding. ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGH!

Well, it's an the size of four of the NGC mags, A2 I think?
Well, it's all blue with a circle pattern. Taking up the whole middle bit is the large circular Wave Race logo, but instead of that mean looking wave on it, there is Rob Haywood. It's alright, and DEFINITELY worth a copy of Metroid Prime.

PLEASE?
