Nintendo Gallery, and a couple of gripes
« on: March 28, 2003, 06:36:20 PM »
First, I want to say Windwaker is great. Now... I feel kinda cheated because I pre-ordered my copy at KBToys before the official pre-order campaign started, and didn't get the bonus disk. I probably shoulda stuck with EB or just waited for it to officially start... Also what's the story on this bobble head? Saw mention of it at ign and saw pictures of it here, but never saw any story/article about the bobble head. What gives?

Anyway, I still glad I got the game (at $40 + tax). It's wonderful. So, can anyone tell me about that Island off Forest Haven (where the Great Deku Tree is)? There's a big hatch-type knob and some geek on it who can't get in. Says it's some Nintendo club or something.  I keep trying to fly down to the switch on my deku leaf but keep narrowly missing. Two questions: Am I actually supposed to land there and hit the switch, or do I need some item? (I've got the boomerang, but that won't reach...) Is it really worth the effort? I'm probably going to try again later anyway, but is it really worth it?

Thanks.

*****  SPOILERS  *****

I solved this one easy.  I didn't feel like climbing that blasted tree again, so I simply took control of a seagull and flew into the switch.  To my total amazement, it worked.

I got in, but discovered that I needed a color pictograph to do anything useful.  however, the guy who runs the place said something that really interested me.  It was basically a message to all of Nintendo's fans.  I loved it.    I am working on a color pictograph, and I will return one day to do something worthwhile there.

I don't know.... I do know that it's a sidequest that's going to take me years to finish.  I just became a member of the Nintendo Gallery...  Think of the trophy room in SSBM combined with Pokemon Snap...  It's going to be a while.

**Spoilers**

To get into the Nintendo Gallery, just shoot the crystal with your bow.  The guy will show you exactly where it is if you talk to him.  To get a color pictograph, just capture one of the fireflies from the Forest Haven, and give it to the old guy Pic guy at Windfall.  I have about 10 figurines now, I haven't been spending much time on it.  I beat the game yesterday morning(I bet I'm the first one to beat the game here exlcuding PGC staffers) and I have almost all the side-quests done as well.  So if anyone needs help just PM me and I will get back to you.
