Yes, the friendly Tingle. He had a cameo in SSBM, and there's no doubt in my mind he'll be in Brawl too. What will his role be, assist character, guy in the background, a mere trophy or.... playable character? I'm leaning towards playable character. It makes sense, he has his own game now! Tingle has hit the big time.

Here we discuss how he could be possibly used in battle. Perhaps he could throw rupees? His balloon is likely as his up+b recovery move.

Yeah, probably an assist trophy! He could shake his arse while making noises and it'd leave all the other players on screen in a trance. A bit like when JigglyWiggly sings! Then a giant rupee falls down Snorlax style.

I hear that Wind Waker Link's Final Smash is summoning Tingle to kill everyone and everything in his path.

The move is called:

"The Tingle Revenge!!!"

Heres how Tingle will work. As Wind Waker link you can have one of your friends connect to the Wii using their DS and help with Tingle fighting action.

The only proper attack for Tingle would be something useless that further enrages the haters. He should just dance in place and sing - maybe if someone is stupid enough to touch him, they take 1-2 damage.

tignle could play like old smash bros Luigi, except he could have a baloon, and throw confetti at people instead of fire balls...while luigi would have a vacuum

Tingle confirmed as a trophy in the latest update. However we don't know if he's playable yet, other playable characters are also trophies in the same update so its still possible. The fact that he's cel shaded straight out of Wind Waker though makes it seem like he's a one time event in some stage or something, so they are basically ignoring Rupee Land as if it never existed. This probably also confirms no US release of the DS game. Nintendo just delivered a big blow to Tingle, Tingle fans, and the future humanity.

I think he might a stage prop from a Wind waker stage (like in Melee). They DID say that anything you would see in the game would get a trophy.

That or he's an assist and he drops bombs like in WW.

Well, they said in the Helirin trophy (misspelled as Heririn) in SSBM that Kurukuru Kururin wasn't released outside of Japan...
