My cousin came over today(first time in a long time since he lives so far away) and he brought his friend with him.  They are both 13 years old and they came into my room and said "Cool, I didn't know you got a 'cube."  I said "Ya, I had it a long time now, you guys can play some SSBM if you want, its in already"
They both started playing a few versus matches and some team against the computer together.  His friend said "Ah, he has the disc" refering to my OoT/MQ disc(must be a Zelda Fan) . His friend had a gamecube and he had SSBM so he was pretty good and he even pre-ordered Zelda himself.

After about 15 mins of playing my cousin said "Man, I wish I had a cube, they have all the good games, I mean, the ones you want to play".  He has a PS2 and he wishes he had a cube now.  Anyway thats not the whole story.  We played a tourny and I beat them both.  Then we played again and I won again.  They were Link and Young Link both times.  About that time they had to leave to visit our grandma, I just thought it was funny, mainly because I beat them.  Maybe my cous will get a 'cube now.

no, i didn't say that, i just look at his age, 13 a very impresionable age, and the fact ps2 doesn't exactly have alot of "fun" titles, hence my deduction

i didn't say it was bad or wrong to have a ps2 (or any console) just stated my opinion that he probably got it to be cool, i could be completly wrong how ever

I've noticed that after the age of around 12 there is very little in the "age" of the person that determines their maturity level.  From what I have seen there are many thirteen year olds who could put many 30 year olds to shame for their ability to see what would be right and what would be wrong.  And what would be fun, and what would be boring.  While he may have gotten the ps2 because he thought it was cool, it was more likely he merely did not realize he would enjoy the gamecube, but thought he liked the look of the ps2 games, and therefore got a ps2.  That is a pretty strange way of looking at it.  As I look at it, while some people buy a ps2 to be "cool", it is much more often that they will buy it for games such as GTA and Shinobi.  While I much prefer the gcn, and therefore have one over the ps2, I really have nothing against people who have a ps2.  After all, if your having fun, does it truly matter what shape the box was when it arrived?

hrm, personal expiriance is my reason for saying what i did, take for example one day last year at school (dont go anymore heh heh) some little kids happened to be talking about video games in the library (they were like 13-14) and i was over hearing as i was interested, they were saying things like "oh man, youve got a ps2 your cool, your not g*y like (forget the name) who has a gamecube" etc

but if your cousin did indeed buy the ps2 for the fun, GOOD about damn time
