Only if you think all germans are evil:p That's what the accent off that Megatron sounded. My Beef, is that he seemed incompetent, always talking to himself. Dinobot was more intresting however. Although nothing like his predecessor "Grimmlock"

He didn't sound German at all. It was English if anything.

I think Beast Wars was a good mix of everything.  Beast Machines was just to heavy.

Maybe its my nostalgia speaking, but I hate a bad guy who laughs, and from Beast Wars and on, Megatron laughs too much. And when I say 'hate' I mean it rubs me the wrong way when Megatron opens his mouth only to spill a bunch of giggles.

And Megatron needs a raspy voice. It accenuates the nasty battle scars he would have if made of flesh. I'm in the camp of the original G1 is better than any other. And the original movie is awesome, other than completely destroying Grimlock's character and making Ultra Magnus a complete nincumpoop. The image of Starscream frying and turning to dust while the crown tumbles through him will always stick with me. That and Optimus turning grey and the lights in eyes turning out.

Long live the 80's cartoons!

I'm going to go rewatch but original Megatron laughs as well I do believe...  I like both the voices for different reasons.  Though a little gruff in the aged versions of Megatron does fit.

I feel left out since I've never seen the show and even if I did I would have heard different voices...

You know you wanna Yes, While the Original Megatron did Laugh at times, it was nowhere near as much as his counter parts.

I Think Frank Welker sounds well. Listen to the end of the Interview. "Die Autobot!"

I watched that interview and Welker does not sound good, he sounds old and I can completely understand why Bay doesn't want him to do the voice, age has taken a toll on his voice. Peter Cullen on the other hand sounds great.

I'm definitely on the G1 side here, having never really got into the others. I have always loved the nasal rasp of G1 Megatron but from listening to that interview its clear that Prime's voice actor has held up better over the years. I wouldn't be surprised if Bay thought that Welker's voice had become too raspy even for Megatron. A pity because it really does provide a perfect contrast between the goodness of Prime and the evil of Megatron.

What I'm really concerned about is how they'll handle Starscream, who was definitely my favourite as a kid.

We know how that went

That's a plot hole if I ever saw one. Last I recall Unicron restored Starscreams body. So why is he in Waspinator's body during that stint in Beast Wars? His body wasn't destroyed again!

Could be before that or even after.  Beast Wars does happen in actual time Pre-G1 so Starscream spark would have had to do some time traveling.

You know, we are all here sitting and complaining about are lost childhoods and the like but has anyone actually heard the voice that they have given Megatron?  I personally haven't and from what I know the reason was because his voice wasn't holding up not because they didn't like the gruffness of Megatrons voice.  This could all be for not and Megatron voice could sound much like he originally did.

Edit:  I went and rewatched all the video I could find with scenes from the movie.  Neither side talks once in any of them.  I hope thats not an indication on how the movie is.  I really do hope the transformers gets some one liners while fighting and like.

Oh they will talk, but from what I heard they are backed up a bit when it comes to putting the voices in. From what I heard the transformers will act like individuals like the shows, not just big robots.

Gee I'm surprised, it appears you won't be satisfied with ANYTHING the movie will have because it isn't corny like G1 transformers with all the "classic" voice actors.
