Those reviews are interesting especially how well Red Steel faired and this is the biggest Famistu list I have ever seen. The reason why famitsu didnt give TP a 40/40 - It was too difficult.

Red Steel does seem quite high considering the not-so-favorable reviews elsewhere.  Ocarina Of Time and Wind Waker both got perfect scores from Famitsu (which is apparently a rare thing) so it's kinda bad that they didn't like Twilight Princess as much, but hey, that's still an impressive score.

Aside from Internet denizens, no one I know really cares about Famitsu, though, and even to those of us somewhat familiar with it, it doesn't seem to matter as much anymore.

So it seems that one Famitsu reviewer liked the Wii controls better in Zelda and one liked the GC controls better. Interesting.

YEAH!!  All I've heard about Zelda is how the game controls like a dream and how the Wii version is clearly the best way to play.  All of this of course exists without the final version of the Cube game so there hasn't been any fair comparisons.  Here we have one and the results pretty much are win-win.  BOTH versions of the game are awesome so everyone benefits regardless of what version they get.  The great thing is that for the two reviewers that preferred one version over another the difference is only one point so it really doesn't matter.  So for someone that prefers one version of the controls the other version is still incredible and barely inferior at all.  If the scores here applied to everyone's tastes then one could be given one of the two versions at random and they would still love it.

I wouldn't put to much stock in what Famitsu says, they're one of the most inconsistent reviewers there is.

Plus I love how Twilight Princess gets deducted points for being too hard, now I know that Twilight Princess is going to be the greatest Zelda ever made.  Ocarina of Time and Wind Waker were the two easiest Zelda ever made with no real challenge to either of them, yet Famitsu gave them both perfect scores.  

This is why I hate Famitsu because they suck at games and will deduct games points for offering any type of challenge at all.  So seeing that Twilight Princess does indeed offer a challenge that's too hard for the craptacular reviewers at Famitsu does makes me very happy.

I think we all are jaded by reviewers especially by US reviewers since the whole inflation of review shtick. Anyways even so a lot of those Wii game got impressive scores. And I think why famitsu mattered because its interesting to get a take from what some japanese people think of games especially ones from western developers.

I wish games didn't have a review score. As in, they didn't have a number. Putting a number on a review makes it hard for reviewers to keep consistent. Instead, I think reviews should just use a system of words ranging from terrible to must buy. It would keep reviewers from inflating or deflating scores.

They probably appreciate the game in the same way that they smiled in amusement at Last Samurai and Memoirs of a Geisha. Funny Westerners and their strange conceptions of Japan, these are neat little stylistic curiousities!

Another thing that surprises me about the game doing good (at least in Famitsu) is that from what I know the Japanese aren't hot on American first person shooter games and I heard an urban legend that says the Japanese get motion sickness VERY easily from FPS. Is this even true?
