Topic: Still a little worried about component cable availability

I know that a store's release date is meaningless but on ebgames.com and other retailers they dont have the component cables coming out at launch, while they do have the wii points card, nunchuk and classic controller shipping on Friday.

All we've heard is from Perrin "region-free" Kaplan about the component cables being in stores on launch, does anybody in the staff have more concrete answers? Will they be easy to fing or in scarce numbers, etc.?

I have been actively searching for the component cables, and I'm still not sure whether or not we are going to have them for launch. I have been asking all the retailers if they have the item in their system and not a single person has told me yes. I will post in this thread if I find anything and where I find it.

They just have to be available, it would be a travesty if we had to play in the washed out colors and blur-vision of composite.

And no, I don't have an HDTV, there are SDTVs with component connection and its a dramatic improvement over composite. (Some people seem to think component connections are an EDTV and HDTV thing, it's not).

Yep if I can't find Component my Wii instead of just taking the spot in my wiring where the Gamecube is will have to take a whole different spot and I'll have to run many cords to hook it up to my system.  I really only want to do that once.

See if you have a Game Crazy near you. They're the video game stores that have opened in some Hollywood videos. I have component cables pre-ordered with them, and they just told me they'll definintely have the cables at launch. Sure, I guess they could just be telling me what I want to hear, but it's worth a shot! They definitely have it in their computer system, at least.
