New Zelda Videos at Nintendo's Websites
« on: November 02, 2006, 03:30:31 PM »
Videos showcase shops, dungeons, and Wii Remote sword swinging.

Following a two-day Zelda event held at NOA, Nintendo's marketing machine has kicked in: two substantial Zelda videos, and a variety of smaller ones have popped up on two Nintendo websites.

Short videos of Zelda have been included with each recent update to the Iwata Asks series, a Q&A session held by NCL President Satoru Iwata where Zelda has become the main topic. The English translations of the Iwata Asks sessions are lagging behind by more than a week, but on the Japanese site you can access these new videos that feature a dungeon filled with skeletons, a shop, a conversation between Link and a girl, and a strange bird-like creature with a human head that Link can hold as an item.

On Nintendo of America's Wii site we have been treated to a variety of Zelda videos, all of which are accessible on the main Zelda page; one of the two prominent videos shows the opening "pre-title screen" sequence, a Zelda tradition, and the other is a new trailer with more Link as wolf action, some implied romance, and story scenes from the game's cinemas. It also shows Link actually transforming into the wolf, an apparently painful procedure.

We're obligated to speculate about a couple of things seen in this video: one is an ominous creature (man?) who apparently kidnaps a woman (two guesses as to her identity), and the other is the final shot of Link grabbing the Master Sword which could potentially take place in a broken down Temple of Time.

Finally, below the two longer videos are seven short treats of people from different territories playing Zelda. Most people seem to automatically rest their arms on their knees while playing, and there is variety in their sword swinging technique. These last few videos are the most instructive; while they don't feature a lot of new gameplay footage, they do give a solid impression of what most people will look like while playing the game.

The Legend of Zelda and the Nintendo Wii will both release on Sunday, November 19th.

From the "Iwata Asks" page, that movie05 was just so cool, and the other movie with all those skeletons is just so holy-crackin'-blazing-triforce-shards.

I personally liked the video with the cute NPC who wants bugs... ^_^

From what I can squint out of the text in the first part of that video, it reads: "Ara!  Ookina batta-san ga to omoi mashita wa!", which I think translates to "Oh, I think that's a big grasshopper!"  So it seems that's possibly another sidequest!

How do you watch the video I clicked on every link I could find and no video came up, direction point please!

Edit: Never mind lol. I'm an idiot.
Silly monkeys; give them thumbs they make a club and beat their brother down. How they survive so misguided is a mystery. Repugnant is a creature who would squander the ability to lift an a eye to heaven conscious of his fleeting time here.
