Wii Keyboard?
« on: September 29, 2006, 04:22:55 AM »
With the Opera Browser and things like the message center, will we be seeing a Wii-Compatible Keyboard?  Perhaps we'll be able to use the USB ports to plug in a regular keyboard?  Maybe my ASCII GCN keyboard can finally be used for something besides looking cool?  Does anyone remember hearing anything about a Wii Keyboard?
Just some random guy on the internet who has a different opinion of games than you.

I was going to say that maybe a DS can download a keyboard (it already has one in PictoChat so they could just adapt that), so Nintendo could encourage people to buy a DS Lite.  After all, unless you already have an extra USB keyboard, and unless the Wii can actually support USB keyboards, a special Wii one would probably already cost half as much as a DS Lite.  That is, if you don't find the DS Lite too small.

If you only visit sites where you don't need to type (webcomics, news sites) you could probably bookmark all your favorite pages and then you shouldn't usually need a keyboard again after that (except maybe to add more sites).

I was thinking about this myself.
If you gave the Wii a keyboard and then added an Ethernet plug for broadband, you would have WebTv.
Well, I guess most Cable Modems have a USB port, but Wii would need drivers for them.
Still, Nintendo could make Wii a webtv unit better then well WebTV ever could have been.

Ok, I give MSNTV2 does have a lot of new features.

Still, interesting possibilities...

Uhhh...the Wii has USB ports. You should just be able to put a wireless keyboard in.

It wouldn't surprise me if Nintendo is counting on people using the pointer and an on screen keyboard to type...

Yes, I think that's a stupid idea too.

It's called a "Wiiboard".

Really, people, you need to practice name shortening for the good of all.

I forsee a Wiiboard attaching to the Wiimote.

I mean, it only makes sense....
