This is a live poll, it just opened, but if the trend continues we can all have a round of drinks.

Still at exactly 87%, but only 25% intend to get a Wii only. Anyway, I never take much faith in internet polls considering how often the Gamecube was generally a real contender in them.

Down to 86%, but still, 25% buying a Wii only is more than the other two exclusively. I call it a good thing.

Multi Concsole fan bois are a growing trend. Wii60 is not just a fad.

but I still vote for Wii only. I would only take a second console if it was extremely cheap or absolutely free.

I wonder how many PGC readers are Wii60 fan bois vs just Wii fan boisYes, I am trying to start an undercover poll

Thats better than the 6% that the 360 currently has.  It looks like we could have a majority of people with console combinations.  Its interesting that more people plan to get Wii60, than those who plan to get the 360 or the Wii combined.  Could the console war become *gasp* a combo console war?

That situation would greatly benifit Nintendo, it would be a war between Wii60 and PSWii.  There really would be no room for the PS360 because both consoles are just too similar to warrant the extreme cost of buying both.

I think that this is going to be the real kicker for the Wii. In the past generation people could buy a PS2 and an XBOX and not buy a Gamecube. For the most part, if people are looking for another console this generation, the only logical choice is the Wii. For a long time I always trashed on Nintendo's marketing for being the worst in the world, it makes me wonder how they made a complete 180. Must be the Regginator...

Right now Nintendo has the cool factor going, thanks to the Wii-mote(with all it's nifty little tricks) and they have their own competition endorsing them. Nintendo is really sitting on top of the world; they would really have to do something stupid to screw up what they have going now.

Who cares about how many people will only have a Wii? Wii games are cheaper to make and that 87% figure sounds like the Wii has the best coverage whereas a PS3+XC title would only cover 75% (while having larger costs and needing two SKUs).

Hm.  I thought I remember IGN stating that retailers are going to be listing Wii games at $49.99 each.

Never take any of these polls seriously.  Nintendo usually does very well in all polls but history has shown that they never really amount to anything.

As for Wii games being cheaper, $49.99 sounds about right.

That is true...online polls are skewed towards hardcore gamers...I still think there's a large number of casual gamers who don't spend their online time further seeking information about games.  They're casual after all.  And I think there is some truth that Microsoft and Sony get the casual gamers and that hardcore gamers always still leave room for some Nintendo.

In almost any GameFAQs poll about consoles (ie. which do you own, would you buy one, etc.), the GameCube is usually second, sometimes close, only to the PS2, and the Xbox is always hated on more than the others.  Yet you ask any casual gamer and they're more likely to drop the name Xbox and some don't even notice the GameCube at all - which wouldn't be the case if life was like online polls say they were.

Still, it's a good sign for Nintendo fans.

Cheaper in regards to the other consoles. Some 360 games are going for $59.99. PS3 games are to be the same as 360. So, $49.99 may not be cheaper than what we've been paying, but it is cheaper than those others.

I'll get the link a second but THQ said it cost them about a third of the money to make their Wii titles that it took them to make the same game for the Wii's counterparts.

Also Nintendo came out and said they want the first party titles to be the same price this generation as they were this generation, so it is up the to third party's to compitulate.

Here's the one with Nintendo wanting $50, 1st party games.

THQ saying that Wii development is 1/2 to 1/4 that of the other consoles.
Stupidity is lost on my. Then again I'm almost always lost.

The retail price of a videogame has no correlation to the development cost. Unfortunately those 50$ will probably end up still being 60€.

Some of us are gritting our teeth, hoping that this doesn't happen.

Again, looking at Tony Hawk, I can see why.. and this is what I was worried about; 3rd parties treating the Wii like a current gen console and putting minimal effort in it. Fortunately, many impressions said that it controls well, like Madden, so I hope that continues..

I we will get a better indication of Wii power when the multiconsole call of duty 3 is released. I expect a GC RE4 vs PS/2 RE4 difference.

The exclusives will provide the indication of the Wii's power, but multiconsole games will still suffer..
