The beauty of Wii and Nintendo is the variety.  You got stuff like Red Steel.  And Metroid Prime.  To an adventure game like Zelda to the joyful fantastical worlds of Super Mario to fun party games like Wii Sports and WarioWAre.  Variety!!!!

Look at the PS3 and 360 trailers.  All rubble-strewn, bloodied, bullet ridden, war zones of games.  90% of them are like that and are dark and badass 15 yr old material.  Hey I don't mind a game like that now and then.  But every game?

Also I tell you Rockstar Table tennis has totally realistic graphics and I'm more interested in Wii Sports.  Wii Sports just looks more fun.

Glad to see I am not the only one to notice a trend of war zone games with dark, gritty and realistic graphics. It does get quite boring after awhile, and it is good to see Wii have some variety!

There is a point to the graphics, and the point is to emphasize that this is a silly little lighthearted fun game. Works for me.

I thought I would revise my opinion a bit, I finally got to watch the HD Off Screen version of Mario Galaxy (before I only seen the trailer through the conference) and I have to say I am impressed with the visuals. The game runs smoothly and it definately has a "wow" effect when I see the visuals.
