Original and Melee Tournaments

Has anyone ever participated in one?

As I mentioned before, I want to host an event for the launch of Brawl at my store - as part of the event, I want to have a tournament for the first two games (need to get a 4th N64 controller...)

Can you give details about your experience with SSB tournaments?

I played in a tournament at Otakon in 2006. It was an SSBM tournament and this particular tournament was a 1v1, no items, 3 stock, final destination tournament. They were also running a 4 player (no team) melee tournament and a 4 player 2v2 team tournament. Both of those had items and all levels turned on and was a time battle (5 mins).

My local Gamestop will be having a SSB64 tourney the night of the midnight launch. Winner gets a free copy of the game.
