Topic: A different TOS problem (No Spoilers)

Hi all,

  I am alomost done with Tales and at about 40 hours in I now have an issue I can't seem to fix.  All of a sudden while in battle mode Lloyd has a sword with a blinking red X over it and I cannot do any TECHS.  Also, sometimes the other carachters have little blue people figures over there info on the bottom (looks like the man on the men's room signs).  Please Help!!!!

Those icons on your character faces are status indicators.  Just like their face pic turning green when they're poisoned.

Any indicator with a little red X on it is obviously bad.  Other things are good, usually with a little triangle-arrow pointing *up*, showing things like your party having increased defense or increased attack strength (try Raine's Field Barrier or Colette's Holy Song).

The sword with the red X on it means you're Cursed.  You must use some kind of medicine bottle (useful items will blink in your Item Screen during a battle) or have Raine cast Dispel/Nullify to cure him.  Your other characters are likely under the effect of a magickal ailment as well, and they need to be cured.

You sound like you're on the LAST boss.

   I am headed to that  boss, so I guess that is it.  I bought the game new, must have lost the original instructions, I spent two days looking for them to figure this out.  Thanks so much for the help!
