The sequel to Treasure's classic action shoot-em-up is set to release for the GBA come this October, and the game is really looking to match its predecessor and perhaps even exceed it!  Look here for the latest trailer...Beware, as things that could be counted as spoilers are contained (return of certain characters)

The most noticable thing from the trailer was the return of many of the bosses from the original game, such as Orange, Pinky Roader, and Melonbread, etc, which is great, because I loved them all...But the BEST thing is the return of the mine level!  If you watch the trailer and you've played the original game, you'll probably be as shocked as I was during that segment...

Also, the game looks like it won't suffer from the framerate problems of Treasure's previous GBA games, so cross your fingers!

There's no topic on this because it's only ONE PLAYER.  Treasure has a pretty solid track record so this will probably be a decent title but they've removed the most appealing part of the original game.  I'll probably still get it because it's Treasure but if you were set out to f*ck up Gunstar Heroes removing multiplayer would be the first step.

In way I wish they weren't making a sequel.  If you're going to make one do it right and that means not cutting out features the made the original as special as it was.  This is the perfect example of why 2D shouldn't be limited to portables.  If this was on a console it would be two players.  It's only because it's on a portable that it isn't.

I haven't checked out the latest trailer yet because I don't want to spoiler more than I already have.

I'm undecided regarding returning bosses.  On one hand those bosses are cool.  On the other hand they're cool because they're so unique.  Originality is largely what makes Gunstar Heroes so great.  Focusing too much on recreating fan favourite moments from the original would remove a big part of Gunstar Heroes' appeal.

I'm still very interested in the game but I have a lot of concerns.  I don't just want a nostalgia trip.  I want something truly special and worthy of the franchise.

But I saw plenty of gameplay in the GSH video.

They didn't bother with 2 player because nobody has ever given a crap about multiplayer GBA games.
