I finally got Alien Hominid yesterday.
OH MY GOD.
Everyone MUST purchase this game. Especially if you're an old school shooter fan. I've been having a blast with it so far.
Read my review of it here

Ohhhhhh, good thing you did a review on it. I might get it instead of Metal Slug Advance. Is it a lives based game or is it a life energy bar based game? I ask this because MSA was changed and I didn't like the change at all because it doesn't feel like a Metal Slug, they did many changes that make it look like crap IMO, unless I'm missing some extra features in the game that will let me play the game like the arcade version. Anyways Alien Hominid looks to be my Metal Slug fix for the time being, maybe!

Lives based. Though depending on the difficulty level, you can pick up sheilds that can take a hit or two. Of course, in the later levels, some enemies will kill you with one hit no matter what.

Is it a full arcade game or does it allow for saving?

Auto-saves after every level, and you can go back and replay any level anytime you wish. Which is good because you WILL lose all your continues at certain parts of the game (the robot boss in level 3-2 comes to mind.)

If u guys wanna taste a bit of this game u can head over at newgrounds.com website and search for the game (alien hominind duh) the game is IT but its soo freaking fun u get addicted to it. I hope this game sells well (anyone  knows how many copies  have being sold?) so we can see another high quality game from The Behemoth.

Here are the sales figures Mario posted on Dec 12:

GCN ALIEN HOMINID $39,960 1,393
PS2 ALIEN HOMINID $59,308 2,005

Not too hot for either system.  I have a feeling it's getting lost in the mess of holiday releases.  I know it has for me.  I'll probably pick it up sometime next year.

Just got to the final boss today. Note I said "GOT TO" the final boss, not beaten. No spoilers, except to know that he (or it?) is a tricky li'l bastard.
I'm loving this game. I'm actually kind of surprised it's selling more on the PS2 than the Cube, since most PS2 owners I know tend to turn their nose up at 2-D games. I've already been telling every gamer I know about this game, so it might end up being word of mouth that will help sell this game.
Who knows, this might be a game one might consider trading in for when they get sick of Prince of Persia 2

"Who knows, this might be a game one might consider trading in for when they get sick of Prince of Persia 2"

Thus effectively adding nothing to its total sales.

Here's the thing - most people will see the cover art and just pass over it, with the mentality "I've never heard of it, so it must not be any good'. I have seen almost no advertisements aside from an occasional banner online. No print, no TV. It's fairing pretty well in reviews - but still, they need to advertise something like this to let people know it's out there and it's a must-have title.

I has been revealed that AH is coming to or has already hit Australian shores but, only for PS2 and XBOX.....

What a freaking bummer....

According to GameSpot.com (which cites GameStop.com), Alien Hominid will be landing on Xbox on August 1.

The game is kind of fun, but it's almost pointless to buy it since you can play it for free on your PC.
I think it says on the box, 'No Hispanics' " - Jeff Green of EA

Actually its not similar but very different (multiplayer, PDA games, create your own PDA games levels, Sheilds, gernades, better controls, and lets not forget SOVIET MISSLE MASTAR!), also the levels are way different from the PC flash game.
