Actually I pretty much had to lie favourably to give Nintendo the impression I want.  I don't play games online because NINTENDO'S NOT ONLINE.  Any Nintendo fan who doesn't own another console CAN'T play online console games.  That's the point.  So why are they asking questions indicating how much time we play online when we can't play online?  This doesn't mention potential interest it mentions current use which for most Gamecube owners is 0.

It's like a dictorship asking it's citizens how often they vote to determine whether or not to hold elections.

Is that even possible with the current handhelds right now?

Except that they're only asking dual citizens who also live in another country where they CAN vote.

You've got a PC, Ian.

I suppose they're assuming ahead of time--I am also lying favorably so the suits won't hold back on online support for the Revolution and DS (I swear to god if they release another gameboy..........)

Hey really quickly--did anybody say they'd want to play Zelda online?

At first I was appauled...then I thought of an MMORPG set in the Zelda universe where you create a person of any race (I'm thinking of the races and world of OOT but any will do) and a huge smile broke across my face.

I'm just imagining a world where people did not want to destroy Zelda by making it a Massively Multiplayer Online RPG.

MMORPG's are the worst genre of anything ever.

Maybe that's the game.  You go around killing all the online people ruining your Zelda game.

"Who's that guy?  It's an online person!  Kill it to receive a heart piece!"

So, yeah, I didn't pick Zelda or Metroid.  I don't need those games perverted by current market trends.

It's not like making an MMORPG out of Zelda, or any game for that matter, "destroys" it.  A side-project, spin off, or whatever is rad enough, people who want to play it will and people who don't won't, and it's as simple as that.

Metroid?  Why WOULDN'T metroid have an online death match?  If the Revolution release doesn't it'll be one of Nintendo's biggest mistakes ever.  Just look at Halo and Halo2 on xBox's live's popularity.

PS: Ian Sane; do you post on the Operationivy.com forums??

What the hell?  You already feel that Metroid Hunters has tarnished the series, so how would adding online make that any different?  It would benefit all the people interested in it, and it wouldn't hurt you any.  Same with Zelda; we know there's a Four Swords title in the works, so how could adding online functionality make things any worse?

That doesn't make any sense.  For everybody who voted against those two going online, I NOW HATE YOU even more

OMG I have to find the write up I did for my school newspaper two years ago and post it here.  It was about the nintendo mmorpg that encompassed all of their titles and characters and stuff.  You could be like a koopa or a goron or whatever, and then stuff like that.  It was really involved.

That's the point.  By saying that I don't want Metroid to be online I'm voicing my disagreement with Nintendo turning it into an FPS to please the genre sheep who can't understand how Metroid Prime can be viewed from a first person perspective yet not play like Doom.  I don't want any major multiplayer focus for Metroid so of course I'm not going to say I want Metroid online.

As for Zelda I like Four Swords a lot but this doesn't say "Four Swords".  It just says "Zelda" and I don't want the main Zelda series made online for no good reason.  If they misinterpret my response as me not wanting Four Swords online that's too bad.  Next time they should be more specific.  I think it's worth them not misinterpreting my response as "bring on the Zelda MMO".

Yeah that's exactly what I do.

And you haven't shown me one good reason that the Zelda series or any other would be ruined by being online.

If it is an entirely seperate game then who cares?  Will it detract from playing the main, one player adventure that the games normally are?  If you say it will then you had better give me a reason because I simply don't believe it will and can't think of a single reason it would.

Plus, if you don't like it--who's forcing you to play it?

No one.

But if I hate it, who's making me a new Zelda series?
