I think that this is alittle crazy turning a FPS franchise to a RPG side game thing is alittle out there. But it can work if its executed right I suppose. But I think re-telling the story of Doom 1 has been done to death with Doom 2 and Doom 3. I wonder how a Doom that has elements of the Bard's Tale will work.

Eh? A Quake RPG would make more sense since Quake was meant to be an RPG.

All we know is that he definitely works on cellphone games.

I think almost any action or adventure game can be translated into a decent RPG with enough perserverance.  Whether or not it will be truly good, though, depends on whether or not you've got some quality ideas to base the game on.
