Well, since the official forum for this doesn't allow posting, I'll say it here: The Wii library right now is an unmitigated desaster, it's comparable to the crap we saw in the DS's early life, mostly trash you'd only buy because you want to get some use out of that expensive system you bought. Maybe if Nintendo had lowered the game prices to appeal to nongamers some of those games might be worth the money but 60€ for the kinds of games you wouldn't want to pick up until they hit the clearance bin...

No, because i'm in the UK and completely agree with him. Including the current exchange rates, and we paying $70 for some games ($90 for 3 and 360).

The release schedule between Sonic (March) and Mario Strikers.. 2 and a half months!!!.. has been incredibly poor. My 2 friends who recently bought Wii's commented on how the release schedule is being so bad. If i was a non-gamer, there's not a lot for us to non-game with.

I'm in Europe too and I import games from the US: $50.00 = 37 euros.
I haven't bought any European games for a looooooong time (back in the SNES era, except for a couple of GC games I couldn't find US versions of).

Knowing Nintendo this is probably part of their plan to emulate the DS' success with the Wii.  Other simularities include having a stupid name and having a borked online setup designed by overprotective parents that don't let their kids eat sugar.

But for some reason it seems to be working pretty damn good.  Must be the "mainstream audience likes American Idol and Shrek movies" syndrome.

Maybe the Wii's success is in spite of these things rather than because of them? I can believe Nintendo thinks their Wii strategy is flawless, but they may not realize its success may be due to other factors. I mean they are doing excellent, but maybe they could be doing even better if they tried a few things different...
