Possible New Peripheral: GCN->N64 Adaptor.
« on: November 17, 2004, 05:15:40 PM »
A recent poll on Nintendo.com asked users whether or not they'd be interested in a N64 adaptor for GameCube, and how much they'd pay for it. (The poll may have been taken down by now.)

I'd actually be interested in buying this, if the price is right. The reason being I only have one controller for my N64, but 4 controllers for my Cube.

For those who may doubt my credibility, this news has already been posted on The Magic Box.

I'd love to play Mario Tennis, Super Mario 64, Mario Party 1-2-3 and SSB (hell any game that isn't Goldeneye or Perfect Dark, GC controller is terrible for FPS) with a GC controller, i'd definately buy this.

My N64 controls are all crusty and jerky, so i'd be all for a 64 adaptor on Gamecube. I'd pay about $50 for one. Nintendo could redo the good games that were on 64 onto GC though...

Well, in theory, I'm against this.  I don't like addons, especially when this add on is an existing product.  I didn't care for the idea of the GB Player, but at least it took a portable system 1) made it ideal for home use 2) Added rumble to some games 3) Saved GBA users battery life.  What are the advantages to this?  1) the market for the N64 'Player' can't hold a light to the GB player just based on the potential markets 2) There will be no functionality upgrades.  3) The N64 has stopped video game production.  4)   Home conversion to home conversion? wtf? 5) Would be a poor home conversion.  The N64 is able to have a memory card for personal data in each controller - that isn't happening.  This is a waste of Nintendo's production time for a useless gimmick as far i'm concerned.
Hey Mario, would you be able to find sales figures on the GBP?

I'd like a N64 player, save me the trouble of setting up my N64 buried somewhere in my garage.
Although i might prefer this to be on the Revolution, even more incentive to get it ya know?

Aww... boo me...

I did look for any similar threads before I posted this, but I wouldn't have expected it to be in Fast Forward, because it's GameCube-related news.
