Kawazu Working on TGS Game
« on: September 02, 2004, 02:13:31 AM »
Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles' lead man says he's preparing for a TGS showing, but will give no details.

Square Enix’s Akitoshi Kawazu, producer of Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles, mentioned he is finishing up a demo for the Tokyo Game Show in an interview with Japanese game site Gpara.

Although he refused to provide any solid information, his branch of Square Enix, Game Designers Studio, was partially founded by Nintendo money.   It is fairly safe to assume the game on display will be either the announced DS sequel to his connectivity game or a new GameCube game.

Tokyo Game Show 2004 takes place at its usual spot, the Makuhari Messe (Nippon Convention Center) in Tokyo, on September 24th, and is open to the public the 25th and 26th.

Just to note, IGN seems to be speculating that it's not another FF:CC, or otherwise GameCube-exclusive game, since Game Developers Studio wasn't mentioned. (But what was mentioned?)

And RPGFan seems to think that it won't be another new DS title, but will probably be something for one of the current consoles. (Probably because "FF:CC for the DS" has already been announced, and isn't exactly top secret.)

To tell you the truth... If its not Chrono Break or whatever the Chrono sequel  was going to be called, or a Secret of Mana Sequel, or a Nintendo Kingdom type sort of Supermario RPG Mega thing I wont really care...

What's to say he isn't talking about Crystal Chronicles for DS?  Just because it's already been announced doesn't mean that he can't feel like keeping it a secret.   Ummm...at any rate, I'd like to see a new game for the GameCube...that's not Crystal Chronicles...but I'm not betting on it.
That's my opinion, not yours.

FF:CC DS hasn't been shown yet, it's only known to be in development...So that title can't be crossed off yet...

More than likely this is for the BSP (it's new nickname by me).  Square says "The Playstation brand is the best, and they give us lapdances and b**wjobs and the works!!  Nintendo on the other hand doesn't exist because their 'media' is only 8cm long...HAHAH!!"  Do I hate the market?  Yes I do.

Cell: It was called Radical Dreamers.

Sgt: BSP means Binary Space Partitioning. It's used by games like Quake for storing and dividing map data.

Akitoshi Kawazu's newest project is a PlayStation 2 remake of the Super Famicom hit Romancing SaGa. Titled Romancing SaGa: Minstrel Song, the game will feature 3D map and battle visuals.

I wonder if there are people who actually buy all of those hundreds of remakes S-E is throwing at the PS2...
