Your right, the magic armor does drain ruppees even when you aren't taking damage, but it also converts damage.  I used it a great deal in the cave of ordeals, since they don't give you health there, but they do give you money.  So I'd use it in rooms where I was pretty sure there would be quick action and there was a good chance I'd take damage, I'd also use it if I was pretty sure I was gonna take a lot of damage, like when facing multiple ice soldiers.

As for the Rare chu I actually first encountered it in a cave in hyrule field, and there's a cave on snowpeak that has it too, I get the feeling there are a couple in every area

Nintendo Gaming / RE:The Wiimote's comfy!

I concur, I hadn't realized how restrictive regular controllers feel until I caught myself playing zelda lying down, and realized that it was a perfectly comfy situation, normally it's not very comfortable at all to play games lying down.  But yeah, I definetly like how comfy the wiimote is.

As for the armor there's that magic armor that drains rupees instead of health when you get hit

I rather liked the improved spin attack, found it very useful, I agree that the ball and chain rock, though it's a little too slow to be used in regular combat against more than one or two enemies, still it's the best way I think to take out those annoying Ice soldier guys.  So what exactly are the bomblings good for?

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Your favorite/Least favorite Wii launch game

Favorite games, well the best one is probably Zelda, but now that I've beaten it, it'll probably be a while before it goes back in my Wii.  Raymen is a blast, definetly my favorite group game, it and Wii sports show off the new stuff about the wii pretty well.  Excite truck would have to be third, it's crazy fast, I think I crash three times a minute.  Fourth would be Wii sports, it's fun with people, but I just don't like playing by myself.  Lastly is Red Steel, which I've sold for about what I paid for it.  I was just getting the hang of the controls too, but I got impatient with it and and didn't want people playing it and thinking poorly of my Wii.  Gamefly is bringing me Trauma Center, (I really like the DS game, stuck on the last level though) and Need For Speed.  So we'll see how those go.

I didn't know the time frame for the game, frankly I didn't care, the way they just left Gannon just standing there with that sword sticking out of his chest.  What with the triforce dissapearing from the back of his hand, and sounds he was making, it seemed pretty clear that he had died, yet he stood there.  All I can say is his ability to recover put's wolverines to shame, lol.

Okay so for those that've beaten the game Why exactly does Midna destroy the mirror?  Also did anyone else think that she was going to say "Link, I....love you"

Just finished TP, clocked in at just over 40 hours.  Still need 15 heart pieces and like 20 poes.  I gotta say, I'm dissasitisfied with the ending, it had like no closure for me, it just felt rushed, especially after all the time I put into beating it.  That said, I did thoroughly enjoy the game, and it did seem to have a lot of funny parts.  The thing that I really liked was just the sheer number of mini games, if felt like you were constantly doing something different.  Too, they definetely did a better job with making you care about emotions and what not.

I thought that zant was one of the funniest bosses I've ever fought.  I really like the way they did the obligatory summery battle

I really wanted to see Gannon die, maybe I a sadist, but I just wanted to see Gannon fall over dead, like for real, especially after you had to fight him three times

My favorite boss battle was definetly the one on the spinner, as soon as I saw the spinner and what you were supposed to do with it, I immeadiately thought skateboard, it's a shame they didn't come up with more areas to use it, because I really like them

At any rate good times were had by all, I did like how they followed up on all the groups like the ending in LttP  Now I gotta watch my Fiance beat it, she's not a gamer but this is the only game on the Wii that she's got any interest in, she's not keen on Wii Sports or Rayman.  It's kinda weird really.

Nintendo Gaming / RE:is it all hype? (UK onlooker)

I'm totally loving my wii, seems like I'm constantly finding things that suprise me about, things I hadn't heard from anywhere else.  Like you can turn the system on or off with one of the wiimotes and if turning the system off, it automatically turns all the controllers off.  The controllers won't turn on if the system isn't on, and they seem to be pretty good with the batteries, though that'll remain to be seen.  If someone wants to jump in a game, all they have to do is pick up a controller and the controller automatically turns.  If a controller sits for a while unused it will turn off.  If you have multiple controllers on, and you jump into a single player game (Zelda) the other controllers turn off.  I'm sure there's more, but it honostly feels very high tech.

The remote does seem a bit heavy to me after playing for more than 15 minutes or so.  I've found that to play longer I need to hold it in a certain way.

Most of the problems I've had with motion detection honestly feels like more of a software problem than a hardware problem, meaning that the next wave of games should feel better in that regard.

The games I picked up on launch day were Red Steel, Zelda, Rayman, Excite truck and of course Wii sports.  Wii sports was suprisingly fun.  I'm sure you've gathered that's it's a good game collection from the reviews.  My friends seems to like bowling best, with boxing being a close second.

Raymen takes very good advantage of the wii controllers.  It's probably my favorite game so far, my arms are very sore thanks  to it, heh.  The humor in the games is really great, you're constantly torturing those rabbids.  The mini games seems to be made with endurance in mind as part of it, like with "Bunnies love carrot juice" after 1 minute, the bunnies really start coming at you, but you've been pumping for a minute, so your arm is starting to get tired.  It gets frantic as you're strugling to keep your arm pumping and keep the bunnies off you.  I really like how the physical aspect is incorporated into the games.  All but one of my friends had a blast playing this.  My biggest complaint against raymen is there aren't enough mini-games that let you play simoultaniously, usually it's not too painful to play turn-based though.  The games are funny enough and quick enough.  Other complaint is that you have to unluck games to play in multiplayer in singleplayer mode, which isn't a problem except that means you have to play single player before your can jump in with your friends.  Me and my friends took turns in singleplayer mode, and this worked well enough.

Zelda is definetly good, though I don't really like having to flick my wrist to swing the sword.  It just feels like work, probably becuase I need to swing twice to get a swing of the sword, the first time to draw the sword, the second time to actually swing it, and in a fight I tend to swing faster than the animation goes, so I don't always get a swing for every flick.  Everything else works great.

I'm definetly sold on the potential for the wii, the first wave of games doesn't capture it exactly, there are kinks to work out and such, but they definetly show what's possible.  I don't regret any of my purchases here, after playing it I'm pretty sure that this is definetly the way of the future.  The possibilities are endless, I'm excited to see what type of game will behere a year from now.
