Nintendo Gaming / Re: WiiWare Transition?
« on: February 21, 2008, 06:54:44 AM »
I think it just means you can vote on what games are good and what are bad, but who knows? I'd be a perfect way for indie devs to come to Nintendo's attention.

Oh a related note, is there a list of upcoming WiiWare games anywhere?

Nintendo Gaming / RE:An idea for the next Gameboy
« on: January 21, 2007, 04:55:09 PM »
Pretty pictures

Sounds like a good idea, but I think people would object to having to buy different controller thingoes to slot it into
Also, I like the two screens we have at the moment, and I think any new gameboy/ds/whatever they want to call it, will keep the dual screen idea.
Maybe even 2 touch screens.

Dunno if anyone has already seen this or not:

Basically its a rumour that the next iPod will have a d-pad (and I assume some buttons) and be able to play classic Nintendo games.

If they incorporated the Gameboy Mini into the next iPod, they would have a pretty cool item without competing with the DS.  Sounds like a good idea to me.

Nintendo Gaming / RE:New Sadness info

I thought I'd bump one of the more positive Sadness threads to post this new art I just saw at GoNintendo

http://gonintendo.com/wp-content/photos/sadness1_01.jpg

I'm in love with this game  I love its dark, moody style, and that they are actually attempting something original in a game.

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Random thought: I'm dating myself, but...
« on: January 08, 2007, 04:42:13 PM »
I just read "I'm dating myself" and thought, Wow that's a good idea, save me looking for a girlfriend!

Anyway, my first 'computer was a C64, but my first PC was a 386.  I remember we could bring up this rotating picture of a clown, we thought it was amazing!  It almost looked real!

After looking at those screenshots again, it looks like there might be multiple playable characters.  There's three 'agents' on the boxart, and one of the shots has a woman standing in a level.

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Why not use the Goldeneye control scheme for FPS?
« on: January 08, 2007, 01:18:03 PM »
I think the Wiimote's D-pad is a bit awkwardly positioned to use it for straifing and looking around.  Pressing down is okay, but left and right are hard to press, and pressing up requires you to move your hand position.
I'm sure there is some other way to do better FPS controls, but I'm not sure what they are yet.  Personally I didn't have a problem with Red Steels controls once I got used to them.

Does anyone know if this is updated? Surely they wouldn't put a straight point of Impossible Mission C64 on the Wii when they could have just sold it through the Virtual Console... and yet the screenshots look exactly the same as the orignial.  I loved the original, but some updated graphics would be nice.  It was hard to see the puzzle pieces sometimes...

I don't know where I stand on updating the voices though, the original sounds are classic... I just live the 'Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh' when you fall down a hole  It'd be great if they provide an updated version, with the option to play the original as well

I don't understand why Nintendo Australia felt the need to wait a year after it was released in Europe and TWO years after it was released in Japan/US, before finally releasing it here...

Sometimes being in Australia really sucks for gaming

The other day I dreamt that I woke up and got dressed, and ready for work.

Then I woke up and had to do it all again :|

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Now this guy has the right idea (concerning the VC)
« on: December 28, 2006, 08:55:46 AM »
To be honest, I'd be satisfied with a little more information in the VC screen itself, before I buy.  I want to be able to view MORE screenshots, and FULLSCREEN, and perhaps they could even link to some reviews, since you could easily read them in the Opera browser.

« on: December 27, 2006, 04:09:16 PM »
I'm too lazy to read the article :p, but demos of VC games definately be cool.  My first console was an N64, so I haven't played many of these games and I'm looking forward to trying a lot of them.
However, I already regret getting Wario's Woods and Toejam and Earl :|
Even if its just a time limited thing, say you can play for an hour or two then it deletes itself.  Shouldn't be too hard to do.

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Rayman Raving Rabbids=The Wii's Feel the Magic
« on: December 27, 2006, 04:05:30 PM »
There's short little clip I kept seeing while playing Rayman Raving Rabbits, that was a sillouette of the rabbits dancing, and the background was a purple and pink star thing spinning around, reminded me very much of the art in Feel the Magic (or Project Rub as its known down here)
I definately saw the similarities.

Nintendo Gaming / Idea: Make-a-game game
« on: December 22, 2006, 12:39:12 PM »
Personally I think this would be perfect for the Wii.

We've already got the Mii channel, so there's your game characters right there.

If they updated the photo channel a bit, or maybe even added a paint channel, then you've got art for your game.

Then all they need is the actual make-a-game bit, and a way to distribute them (if not through the VC), and itd be perfect
doncha think?

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Can anyone here make Miis correctly?
« on: December 13, 2006, 11:47:14 AM »
I love making Mii's, its fun, but I'd love more options such as
- actual red hair.  My brother-in-law has red hair and I had to give his Mii light brown hair cause there's no red.
- I'd like the ability to have no nose, cause I tried to make the powerpuff girls (yes, I know :| ) but they don't have noses, I had to give them tiny ones and it looks silly.
- also more mouth and nose options in general.  There are a lot of eyes to choose from, but hardly any noses and mouths.
Any other options you guys want?

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Twilight Princess Spoiler Discussion Thread
« on: December 12, 2006, 03:59:10 PM »
Just a quick question.  I haven't finished yet, but I was wondering if there was any reason to replay Twilight Princess after finishing?  I remember in Windwaker you could replay with a camera and take photos of everyone, is there anything like that in this?

Nintendo Gaming / RE:OFFICIAL Ask Random Questions About Wii Thread
« on: November 21, 2006, 09:47:31 AM »
My random question:
Can I buy the Zelda for Wii and still choose to use the gamecube controller?

Not that i'd want to, but I like to know I have options.

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Wii Loading Times

I remember having to wait half an hour for my c64 tape drive to load, and people are worried about 8-10 seconds?
