Nintendo Gaming / How to play US GameCube in the UK

Hi Everyone

I have a question - my boyfriend is coming over from the US to live in the UK and is shipping his GameCube over. Is it possible for him to play the actual system here, and if so, what has to be done to make it 'work'??

(I'm sorry, I'm a girl and I'm not so good with the 'technical' terms, so hopefully the question makes sense!)
