Nintendo Gaming / RE:Super Paper Mario 4/23/07 ???

Rumored or not.  I don't read Nintendo Power.  Last, I heard it was coming out in April.  The link just adds more confirmation.  That is all.

Looks like the rumored April release date for Super Paper Mario may be true after all.

Gamestop has a release date for 4/23/07 and box art for the game.

This is great news.  I haven't had anything to play since I beat Zelda, so this will be a must buy.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: No Wii at Best Buy... or anywhere!

check out itrackr.com

I was able to score a Wii for my little cousin yesterday.

The Wii is going to be tough to find all throughout January, a lot of people are in the same boat as you.  They have post holiday gift cards that are waiting to be used.  Demand for the system is incredibly high, and I don't expect the Wii to be easy to find until at least March.

I'm very intrigued with this game.  There's a lot of potential.  The only problems are when will it be released?  what's Nibris track record?

Nintendo Gaming / RE: What is everybody playing after Zelda?
« on: December 23, 2006, 09:11:01 AM »
I downloaded Mario 64 and am playing through it.  I haven't played the game in 8 years, so everything feels new and fresh.  I'm also thinking about getting some GameCube games on eBay, like Tales of Symphonia.

Questions for those who have Tales of Symphonia, I'm not a fan of RPGs like Final Fantasy, so will I enjoy this game?  How is the battle system? and How long does it take to beat it?  I've heard its long and has a cool story.

How long is Red Steel?  and Where did you rent it? cost?  I have no interest in WarioWare or Wii Play.  I really hope a 3rd party game comes out of nowhere and is a sleeper hit.  The wait for Metroid is gonna suck.  I'm tempted to get an Xbox 360, Gears of War, and Viva Pinata but thank goodness I've depleted my funds on holiday gifts.

Having just finish the game, there are no other games out there that I am interested in.  I purchased Metal Slug but returned it and will wait until it hits $20.  What is everybody playing?  I may check out some VC games but otherwise my next big Wii game purchase will be Metroid Prime 3.  Hopefully it'll come out in Q2 and not next fall.

I finally beat Zelda tonight, had to wait until after final exams to really dive into it.  I ended up finishing the game in 45 hours but still have a lot of heart pieces, poes, golden bugs to get.  It was a little bit on the easy side, as I didn't die once but so incredibly enjoyable.  All the boss battles were amazing and the dungeons were extremely long and fun to play through.  This is the best Zelda game ever made followed by LTTP and OOT.  I was pretty sad after beating the game since I have absolutely no other games to play on the Wii nor am I interested in any games that are out right now at full MSRP.

Wow, the hardcover looks badass.  Best Buy here I come.

Nintendo Gaming / Metal Slug Anthology is OUT !!!
« on: December 14, 2006, 06:22:19 AM »
I went looking for an extra nunchuk and saw the game available at my local Walmart.  I would've purchased it but have it on reserve at GameStop.

Some of you may be disappointed though because word around the net is that it doesn't support the Classic Controller.  But 7 games at $40 is still a great value.

I've had this happened to me twice now.  I had to pull the power plug to turn it off and then when I try logging into the store again, it works.  Really strange, I'm gonna try the router thing.  Hopefully it'll stop this problem.  Has anybody notice that the Wii gets very warm in standby mode?

The inclusion of this game with the system was a brilliant marketing decision by Nintendo.  Many dismissed this game as nothing more than a tech demo, including myself.  But its simplistic controls, fun factor, accessibility for any age group makes it Nintendo's wild card.  This game could very well be the Wii's equivalent to Nintendogs.  A simple game capable of reaching the mass market.

The single player game is alright.  I'm still not used to the controls, I wish Sega would've had an option to allow use of the Nunchuk.

I also agree that the minigames are lacking, seems like Sega went with quantity as opposed to quality.  Many of them are hard to control and simply not very fun.  The best Monkey Ball imo, is still the first one.  Overall, I'm disappointed in this game and it looks like it may go back to the store.

Wow, its been a long night.  Played a little Wii Sports and Zelda.  Zelda is amazing, I can't wait to dive into this game during the holidays.  I haven't opened Monkey Ball yet and might return it because of the awesomeness of Zelda.  I messed around w/ the Mii channel and checked out the Wii Store.  I had a huge smile on my face throughout.  This thing is f*ckin' awesome !!!

I'll have to head out tomorrow morning because Gamestop didn't get any extra Wiimotes or Nunchuks.  All in all, I am very happy with Nintendo.  The revolution has begun !!!

A little under 4 hrs left until I pick up the Wii.

We should use this as the thread as to what everybody picked up at launch.

You're right, it's $40.  Gamestop has a shipping date for 11/28/06.  I don't think that it'll be delayed much longer because they did show the final build on various gaming sites unless they are delaying it to incorporate Wi-Fi.  That would kick ass.

I've always been a huge fan of the Metal Slug series.  I can't wait to pick this up when it comes out.  You get 7 games with 6 controller settings.  It's very disappointing that this game isn't coming out on launch day, hopefully it's not delayed too much longer.

Reviews are opinions, get over it.  I don't get all the complaints about Zelda barely getting a 9.  So its not going to be the #1 game on GameRankings.  Big Deal. The fact that it got an 8.8 from Gamespot doesn't make me want the game any less.  Zelda is going to rock, relax and enjoy.

I'd go with Super Monkey Ball.  It's getting solid reviews across the board.  It has a single player game and 50 mini games.

I was on the fence as to whether or not I should keep it and it looks like it'll be game #2 next to Zelda.

I'm in the OC, picking it up at midnight from Gamestop.

What virtual console game(s) will you be downloading on launch day?

The only game I will be downloading is Super Mario 64.  I need my Mario fix for Wii.  I hated the DS version, Mario 64 + analog stick = heaven.

I just picked up Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz preorder at Gamestop.  Also saw Happy Feet, the Ubisoft racing game w/ the steering wheel, and Trauma Center.

I'm still debating whether or not to keep it.  I may just return it for Metal Slug Anthology when it comes out on the 22nd.
