Nintendo Gaming / Shenmue 3 to include 1 and 2?
« on: July 18, 2003, 05:19:35 PM »
Glad to hear Shenmue 3 is in the works.  I don't have an Xbox so if Sega decides to bring it to the PS2 or Gamecube, I'm one happy gamer.

Nintendo Gaming / Samurai Spirits/Shodown
« on: July 18, 2003, 05:15:52 PM »
It's a good port.  Very similar to the first and has a storyline and an ending to go along with it. I don't understand it because it's in Japanese.  The characters are actually doubled if you take into account the bust/slash selection.  One of my favorite character Genan didn't make it but they did include my other favorite, Genjuro.  If I had to choose which one was better, I'd still pick the first SS.  Just because it's basically the first best Gameboy fighter beside Raging Fighter.

Nintendo Gaming / Samurai Spirits/Shodown

Actually, it's Super Gameboy.  I first read about this a very long time ago in an EGM issue.  I'm not sure when it came out but it was probably announced when SS3 just came out on the Neo Geo.  I loved the first samurai shodown Gameboy port so I was excited when I heard Takara was making this.  Although, I thought Takara cancelled the game cause it never came out in the US but it did come out in Japan.  Probably in limited quantity but now I finally have it.  The game is similar to the first, super-deform characters but they are bigger and have more moves/specials.

I do hope they make a Samurai Shodown for the GBA.  The version I want is SS 2.  The best in the series.  Oh, I just picked up Samurai Shodown 3 for the GBC a few weeks ago.  Been looking for this game for the longest.

Nintendo Gaming / More Nintendo brainstorming
« on: July 08, 2003, 07:21:30 PM »
Nintendo doesn't need to follow the trend to make a great game.  The majority of game companies are going with style over substance because that's what sells regardless if the game is good or not.  No wonder third party are blaming Nintendo for lack of sales.  Nintendo makes games for E = everybody, not M = morons.  Everyone too worried about what games the other console are getting instead of the games the Gamecube is getting.

And GameBasher, I know you mean well but I don't really believe you say your disappointed as a gamer, otherwise you would've gone with the other consoles and be happy.

Nintendo Gaming / Should Sega release another Genesis complimation?

I'd like to see rereleases of a few Genesis title but do it on the GBA.

Nintendo Gaming / GC2's Launch
« on: July 01, 2003, 02:39:25 PM »
I agree with a lot of what Ian San said especially the exclusive part.  Nintendo really needs an exclusive, must-have, title that everyone must get a GCN2 to play it.  I think they should really concentrate on third party more next gen.  We all know Nintendo titles usually sell well so that shouldn't be a problem.  They need to change the way third party develop games.  Instead of them making the games for the PS3 or Xbox2 and then porting it to the GCN2, it should be the opposite.  Oh, and they should treat other country such as Europe and Australia the way they do the US and Japan.  Release the titles within a few months of it's release in other countries.

Don't forget Advance Wars 2.  I just picked it up for $25 at Target.

Nintendo Gaming / Def Jam vendetta
« on: June 25, 2003, 02:07:15 PM »
I haven't played it on the Gamecube but my brother rented it for the PS2 and I didn't really like it.  The game gets repetitive with moves and specials.  It's basically an arcade wrestling game with rappers.  Not much else.  I'd say give it a rental first and see if you like it.  Otherwise, I'd say wait for Wrestlemania XIX.

If the camera issue hasn't been fixed from the Dreamcast version, I'll pass.  Rather wait for Sonic Heroes.

General Gaming / The Handheld war is on... New Poratble Dreamcast
« on: June 18, 2003, 04:32:40 PM »
This really isn't in competition with the GBA or PSP.  It's more of a cutdown version of the dreamcast with a screen.  Not really a handheld.  Although I'm very intrigue at the design, it's not worth the $200 price tag I've seen on some online shops.

Nintendo Gaming / Games to start costing more?
« on: June 18, 2003, 04:25:03 PM »
If it does happen, it won't last long.  Just like the price drop of the console this gen, either Sony, MS or Nintendo will lower the software prices.  Sony's already done it charging only $39.99 and Nintendo's charging the same price for 3rd party titles.

Nintendo Gaming / GBA successor revealed????
« on: June 16, 2003, 08:21:56 PM »
spong.com has done it again and "supposedly" revealed some info on the next Gameboy.  It looks like it'll use a hard drive or something similar.  You can transfer game from another console.  This sounds like a perfect solution for Nintendo's next Gameboy to be backwards compatible without making the system bulky by adding an extra catridge slot.  It could be used to save game and much more.  I hope it's true but either way, you know Nintendo is taking the PSP serious and getting ready to take it head on.

Nintendo Gaming / Is the GBA that much different then SP?
« on: June 16, 2003, 02:32:48 PM »
I have yet to touch a SP but hope to get one before summers over.  I'm still enjoying my Afterburner GBA.  If I had a choice, I'd pick the SP just for the style.

Nintendo Gaming / *sigh* GameCube finally hacked.
« on: June 16, 2003, 02:29:38 PM »
I think the Gamecube's laser can't read DVD and if I'm correct GODS are not DVD, they just have the capacity of a mini-DVD.  So even though the games can be read and dumped, you'd have to do a lot of modification to the GCN just to play a pirated game.  Not worth it IMO.

I had the same thought of Nintendo and Sega doing a console together.  It wouldn't be a merger so both companies are freely to develop whatever title they like.  The only thing they'd split down the middle is the hardware cost and profits and 3rd party licenese fee.  Easier said than done but I think it's a good way if Sega wanted to get back in the hardware business.

General Gaming / i just bought a Master System!
« on: June 14, 2003, 11:05:19 AM »
I had a Master System but it broke and threw it out.  I kept the games though and still able to play them on my Game Gear.  Alter Beast and Super Hang On still my favorite games on the system.

Nintendo Gaming / "Game Boy is for 10-year-olds..."
« on: June 11, 2003, 09:31:02 PM »
The PSP will do good if the price is right.  If it's around the $200 range, it'll mostly sell only to the hardcore Sony fans and there sure are lots of them so it'll have a good userbase but maybe not to the extent of the Gameboy.  I'm excited about the PSP because I'm a handheld fanatic.  I'm just not going to pay an outrageous price for a handheld gaming machine.

As for the Game Gear, not sure how much it sold but I think it did farely well.  I know in Europe, games kept coming out for it or was that for the Sega Master System.  The only handheld that I wished did better was the Neo Geo Pocket.  Man I loved that thing just because of the games.  I don't even think there was 1 bad game.  It was the first to use that connectivity thing with the Dreamcast that Nintendo is currently doing with the GBA/GCN.

Nintendo Gaming / Wind Waker is SOOOOOO Blurry!!!!!!

I haven't noticed any blurring except for the draw distance which is normal but then again I'm using component input.

Nintendo Gaming / GBA:SP sells 10 units a Minute!
« on: June 09, 2003, 08:47:41 PM »
You can bet Nintendo's gonna drop the SP price down when the PSP launch is near, I'd say within 6 months.  I have yet to get a SP but with the new colors announced, I might be tempted to get it now.

Nintendo Gaming / GCN Succesor Takes Shape
« on: June 07, 2003, 08:02:13 AM »
I think the price of the next gen console will play a part in the success of it.  There was so many price drop this gen that I think consumers know that a console shouldn't cost $300 or more.  If Xbox didn't do the 2 game bundle, it wouldn't have sold like it has.

I hope that when the next Nintendo console launches, Nintendo should just release 1 or 2 1st party games and the rest all third party.  But some of those third party games should be exclusive.  I'd like Nintendo to get an exclusive game that they know we would buy but not that they think would sell.  Think about it, if the console launched at $150, it leaves the consumer more money to spend on games.  We would have less to worry about what 1 game to get at launch but what 3-4 games we should get.  A console priced at $150 with some exclusive(good) third party games would be a killer launch.

Nintendo Gaming / *sob* My GBA just died...
« on: June 07, 2003, 07:47:26 AM »
Congrats on getting it working again.  I know about those clips.  You have to hold the cable in while pushing both clips in or else the cable somehow rises back out and isn't inserted fully.

General Gaming / Virtual Boy
« on: June 03, 2003, 09:46:08 PM »
I still have my Virtual Boy.  Bought it on ebay a few years back with around 8 games for $60.  But I remember when stores like Babbages and EB were clearing out the Virtual Boys.  The system was selling for $15 and the games were dirt cheap, under $5 each.  I wished I bought some back then.  I don't play it anymore because I do get dizzy playing it.  Just like having it around to look at.

Nintendo Gaming / Game-Boy "Next"
« on: June 02, 2003, 04:01:45 PM »
Grey Ninja, I think when most people say it's too early for another handheld from Nintendo, they probably are referring to the just released GBA SP.  I somewhat agree to a certain degree but I rather Nintendo release another handheld that can compete or overpass the PSP in all aspects and do it right than just to rush out and try to knock the competitor out.  It could backfire.
