I wouldn't say the independent DC games are unlicensed by Sega. It's a dead system and I do not believe that the games must be licensed if they aren't sold through major retail channels.

I could be wrong though.

Funny story about Sega's first happy meal run in 2003... I was worked across from McDonalds at the time and I would go over most days I worked (I worked part time hours fortunately) and get a Happy Meal for lunch. My goal was to collect full sets of these and sell them on eBay. Unfortunately, one week I wasn't scheduled to work and so I totally missed one of the toys. Now I'm stuck with, like, 5 or 6 incomplete sets of these. :-D

I think it's ridiculous that any educated person would call this system obsolete. By definition, I don't think that the Gamecube is obsolete... far from it, in fact. Maybe Atari 2600 or even the NES are obsolete, but the Gamecube is still a very powerful system.

I really, really, really, really, really don't like when they hype up consoles a year and a half advance. I think I heard about the Super Nintendo about a month before it was released. And the Genesis? I didn't know anything about that 'til it was out.

Is it really time for a new generation yet anyway? Maybe for the PS2 since it's got such craptastic graphics, but X-Box and Gamecube should still have three or four years left in them, I think. Is that pushing it??

Hm - I'm with ShaolinKilla on this one. College and game dev take far too much of my time away. But this position was a good incentive for me to register and post thanking everyone for their hard work here. I visit everyday.
