Okay here is the thing...the only person I've heard with my issue had his discussion locked with an answer that "There was already a thread on this."  Can everyone stop acting like obnoxious tech support morons and actually answer the question or say exactly what thread this is and how it is relevant?  Honestly I went through all the threads and there was only one topic area that had one message that happened to mention something in passing that may have been related to this issue.  However because the topic was not discussing this issue I'm not even sure about that.  In any case here is my issue...

I turn on the gamecube...
it starts the booting process for a couple of seconds...
then it just turns off.

Here is the crazy thing, and the reason I know it has something to do with the gamecube pieces...

I actually have a Panasonic Q and the DVD part will work.  I can turn on the system under DVD and there are no issues.  It is only when I try to use the gamecube when it shuts down.  I have had the system for 3 years or so, so I am wondering if anything could have gotten old and what I should do if so.  It wouldn't be from wear and tear as I rarely use the system and keep it well protected otherwise.  I had used the gamecube a couple of weeks ago no problem, so this problem started between now and then.  I've learned that excess dust will trigger the gamecube to turn off, however the Q seems pretty well closed in.  Could dust still be the issue?  I blew into all of the open areas and the disk area but it wasn't effective.  I suppose I could take it apart but would like to know what reason I might have for doing so first.  In any case when the Panasonic Q shuts off it gives the error "F76" however this is irrelevant as it would be the same issue I'm sure if someone is experiencing this with a regular gamecube.

General Gaming / Help with "F76" error on Panasonic Q
« on: September 24, 2004, 08:09:16 PM »
Hi, I was wondering if anyone was familiar with an "F76" error with the Panasonic Q.  The problem is that when I turn on the machine it starts to boot and then it just turns off, and the LCD display says "F76."  If I try to open the tray it will start to open but ends up turning off before the entire tray has been ejected from the cube.  I have had this thing for 3 years and have been using it continuously...and it totally worked fine just yesterday, so I am kind of confused as to what this might be.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
