How do I just play singles?  Every match I go to is doubles.  

I really liked the original Mario Golf.  I want to like this game, but man is it frustrating to have a crappy team mate that I can't control.

On a sad note, I seem to have lost my copy of the original Mario Golf!  I can't find it anywhere.  I had my character leveled up to 99 too!

Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this...
I was really looking forward to this game, but what a disappointment.
I'm talking about the doubles aspect.  
I don't need a team mate.  I don't want a team mate.  What's worse, you don't even get to control your own team mate!  As an RPG, I understand it's cool to have more than one party member, but LET ME CONTROL THEM!  It's ridiculous.  My team mate sucks.  She's always hitting the ball in the sand, and then I gotta bail us out.  
It's not fun.  

It's very frustrating.  I cannot believe they ruined an otherwise good game.  

Is there a way to play just singles matches?
