What if it's just a sanity effect to promote Eternal Darkness 2? All this is supposably happening but isn't really true.

No lies either.

That is so bizarre, it could be true.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Dead Phoenix - Kid Icarus conversion
« on: April 16, 2004, 01:43:34 PM »
I have played the original Kid Icarus a few times... it was extremely hard and cheap.  I would love to see a new Star Tropics, though.  It is one of my favourite NES games.

I probably could have got in with the Classic Gaming booth as the resident Snes expert.  Alas, I am busy and broke.

I'd wait for the price to drop, which will likely happen soon.  The PS2 has a great selection of games.  Be sure to check out Vice City, as it is one of the best games to come out during this generation.

I'm really looking forward to this game, the original was one of the best N64 games.  I hope they change the experience system, though.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Silicon Knights and Nintendo break up
« on: April 14, 2004, 08:45:44 AM »
You guys are taking this far too seriously.  Having Silicon Knights as a third party is not the end of the world.  I would really doubt that Silicon Knights are going to "the enemy" and make games exclusively for other systems.  And if they do, who cares?  Is there anything wrong with buying another system if you really desire a game?  If Too Human ends up on another system exclusively, I would consider getting that other system.  It was originally going to come out on the Playstation, and I would have got the PS just for that game.  Personally, I don't have loyalty exclusively to a company, I get a system because it has games that I want for it.  I bought a Gamecube because it is coming out with retro collections that I want, and because games like Resident Evil 4, Eternal Darkness, Geist, and Killer 7 look interesting.

I don't consider Nintendo to be any better of a company than Sony or Microsoft, because they are large faceless multinational corporations.  They do what they see best to make money, because that is their purpose.

General Gaming / RE:Portable NES?
« on: April 14, 2004, 08:33:36 AM »
I believe their patent only applies to Game Boy emulators on other handheld devices.  (ie the GBA emulator for the Zodiac was quickly shut down).

Anyways, Nintendo doesn't really seem to be bothering people making NES emulators for GBA, as the amount of people who actually use them is insignificant.  Playing copyrighted games on them is illegal, unless you have dumped the rom image yourself.  The concept is pretty neat, though.

Someone did make a homebrew snes portable.  I think it was someone on classicgaming.com.  Anyways, NES and SNES carts are massive and would not be very good for portable gaming, in my opinion.

Nintendo Gaming / Mega Man Collection
« on: April 13, 2004, 08:13:24 PM »
This title will probably be my next Gamecube purchase.  I have a question though... one of the most annoying things with the old Mega Man games was the password system.  I know that the games will be emulated, but will they have some sort of save feature that doesn't require passwords?  Also, will there be any graphical filters that will smooth out the old NES jaggies?  The screens from Mega Man 7 look like a direct transition from the snes version, but there are fewer NES Mega Man screenshots.  What is the definite release date?

Hello, thanks!  Anyways, I read the rules a couple of times before I decided to join, so hopefully there are no problems.

Hello, I have been reading Planetgamecube for several years, and it is definitely my favourite site for new news on Nintendo.  I recently got a Gamecube and am quite pleased with it, although the snes will always remain my favourite system.

Cheers!

TalkBack / RE:Silicon Knights Breaks with Nintendo
« on: April 13, 2004, 02:37:43 PM »
The fact that there is only game that really has been spoken about that is in development should make this news somewhat unsurprising.  For M rated games, Nintendo has the upcoming Geist and Capcom's thrillers to make up for any voids.  I tend to doubt that Silicon Knights will completely abandon Nintendo, but likely go multiplatform.
