Great draw distance, there appears to be some AF going on there aswell. To bad the graphics weren't created using final hardware, particularly Hollywood.

Isn't it up to the developer whether or not they choose to use more than one core, considering Epic supposedly were running the Unreal 3 engine with just the PPE core in Cell. Nintendo may be using IBM's multi thread software, or is it multi-core.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Rumored Nrev specs

I think its a effort on Nintendo's part to have a console thats more powerful the Xbox360, but most technical specs are subject to change. I think most technical specs start higher before they are brought down to meet cost requirements. I find them more believeable because they originated, IMO from China instead of some blog or some mystery board member.

And in what way are they to high, to high for Nintendo or to high in general.

I'm starting to think the specs that were linked to the Chinese sight Unika.com may just be real. The same specs posted by Han-solo. My reasons are the fact that the Revolution will be manufactured in China. This is where the GC is being manufactured aswell.

I get the feeling MP2 multiplayer, may be the GC Goldeneye. Retro has so much time left to polish the single player and multiplayer that will create an experience new to all of us. Having the Charge beam, Grapple beam, morphball bombs, powerbombs, missiles, and the virus download by scanning a player.

Picture this, your playing free for all. You catch a player off guard, he or she is attacking another player. You approach them from behind and you unleash a powerbomb. The powerbomb doesn't destroy them, but their energy light is blinking. He or she goes into morphball mode to avoid an imminent death, and search for energy.

How about someone is grappling across an area, you spot them and fire a lock on missile or a Chargebeam combo. Knocking them down.

I think there's so many unique scenarios that can occur when the different concepts of Samus world and weapons that lend them to unique level designs as well.

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Nintendo wants your thoughts!!!

Let me get in on this, Nintendo problem right now as for as online goes and third party support, is software sales. I believe the majority of third party publishers don't want to invest the money necessary to incorporate online in their GC ports, because they fear they're games won't sale enough on the console to recoup there investment. MS Xbox Live service relieves  most third party companies of the cost of maintaining servers for online gaming. Sony get there's because of their larger installed userbase.  IIRC Nintendo has a GameSpy SDK so developers could include the feature if they choose to. Seriously, I believe Atari is making a big mistake not releasing the Godzilla game for the GC, and its going to comeback and bite them on the ass.

I hate to beat a very dead horse, but I will anyway.  The longer this goes, the more inclined I am to believe this is a hoax.  The SK website still has the Nintendo logo on it.  And I know it's rarely updated, but I believe thats because theres rarely news.  2 games worth of news from SK is all theres really been.  When your company breaks off a relationship with another, then you would remove that companies name from your website, quickly.

Secondly, IGN and PGC havent reported a single blurb since the announcement.  Had this been real, they would be after Denis like a hunting hound.  Even if they received a 'Cannot comment at this time' from Denis, they still have a semi-update.  And they would post it.

Third, Nintendo is silent.  Even as E3 approaches, they have yet to elaberate on anything that has transpired.  Nintendo says they will comment in the coming weeks.  Waiting until E3 can only be good news, not a split up. SK says"when the paperworks finalized..."  If its already been leaked to the public by SKs own Denis, then why would there still be paperwork left over?  SK must be closer to Nintendo now then they were, making that exclusive contract useless, because they are a first party.  You don't need a contract -with yourself.

First party, that just might be what it is. Maybe SK has been picked up by Nintendo entirely, Denis may just have to sign the papers to make it official. They would announce it at E3(if true) and what ever game they were working on. Denis would have to sale his portion of SK to Nintendo, theres also certain kinks that would have to be worked out to make it complete.

General Chat / Is it money or software thats the the root to success
« on: February 15, 2004, 11:18:44 AM »
It is believed to today that, MS and Sony larger cash reserves some how guarantees them success. When Nintendo released the NES they didn't nearly have as much money as they have now. Their success wasn't based on the fact that they were able to afford to release a console but because the software released was worth the purchase for consumers. Its obvious to anyone that without money no console can be released or software for that matter. But is money the root to success or is it just good old fashion quality content. This relates to hardware also, despite the fact MS and Sony have more money it doesn't mean that Nintendo will have the weaker console technically. Money in itself is just a vehicle, to help game developers, publishers, hardware manufacturers get their product on the market. A good example is Take Two Interactive/Rockstar, neither company is worth as much as Nintendo, Sony, or Microsoft but they had the most successful console franchise this generation. It doesn't have the best graphics, the best sound but the gameplay itself was enough to get millions of gamers to purchase the last two games in the series. RE4 just might the game that proves this as fact for Capcom and Nintendo.
