Nintendo Gaming / Why no Dancing for cube fans?
« on: June 21, 2003, 04:43:09 PM »
I completely agree with this.  DDR is one of the funnest, if not THE funnest party game to play with your close friends.  Especially with the type of person who buys the gcn, I'm totally surprised they've done this.  Almost all the people I know who have a gcn are crazy about ddr, and almost all the one's with Xbox are...not.  Not to say they have bad taste, they just prefer a different type of game.  Therefore, they really are catering to the wrong side of the market with this.  If anything, there should be at least ONE version of DDR on each console.

Nintendo Gaming / Eternal Darkness Character question (spoilers)
« on: May 07, 2003, 06:47:24 PM »
The character they talk about is the Canadian Fire fighter, wazzis name.  The thing is, while he's not "U.S. Marine Special Forces" he was part of A special force during desert storm.  Plus I mean, you do get all the weapons and such, so it's a rather nitpicky point.

(hmm...Now that I re-read and see you said commando, I'm not really sure. I think they were referring to him though)

Nintendo Gaming / Mini-games in Modern Games are Boring
« on: April 02, 2003, 06:38:37 PM »
Umm...the things that you mentioned as "fun minigames" were in fact complete games created on older systems.  Of course they are gonna be more fun! That's like saying that "Monkey fight" is not as fun as mortal kombat 2 -_-  They just aren't comparable.

Nintendo Gaming / help my gamecube says error has occured!

Call Nintendo, they extended my warrenty when mine broke, so they will probably do the same for yours.  It doesn't hurt to try, and they almost always seem to do it, since their such wonderful people with "the majickal power to extend your warrenty"

Nintendo Gaming / Family Visit
« on: March 22, 2003, 05:39:36 PM »
I've noticed that after the age of around 12 there is very little in the "age" of the person that determines their maturity level.  From what I have seen there are many thirteen year olds who could put many 30 year olds to shame for their ability to see what would be right and what would be wrong.  And what would be fun, and what would be boring.  While he may have gotten the ps2 because he thought it was cool, it was more likely he merely did not realize he would enjoy the gamecube, but thought he liked the look of the ps2 games, and therefore got a ps2.  That is a pretty strange way of looking at it.  As I look at it, while some people buy a ps2 to be "cool", it is much more often that they will buy it for games such as GTA and Shinobi.  While I much prefer the gcn, and therefore have one over the ps2, I really have nothing against people who have a ps2.  After all, if your having fun, does it truly matter what shape the box was when it arrived?

Nintendo Gaming / Silicon Knights.
« on: March 06, 2003, 10:43:36 AM »
Personally, I only had one real Problem with the game, because its so simple, yet would have made everything so much better.  THink of this, whichever path you choose, you can't use that gods majick.  That means with Xel, no sanity heal, with Ul, no majick stuff, chattug, no healing..  This would have made everything so much different each time you play >.<  Loved your game.

Nintendo Gaming / New Zelda Look
« on: March 03, 2003, 01:33:07 PM »
Personally, the only real problem I have with the new look is the fact that link looks upteenmillion times cooler in his normal clothes, and that they shoulda kept his hair the way it was at the beginning screenshots, because he really looks spiffy there.

Nintendo Gaming / Animal Crossing, what's soo good about the game?
« on: March 01, 2003, 11:33:49 AM »
Actually, the only problem I DO have with the game is the fact of the weeds.  After about 2 months of countless hours i got rather bored and just turned it on occasionally, but then i was forced, yes FORCED to stop by the incessant amount of evil weeds that would keep growing.  But other then the weeds, it is a charming, addictive addition to any game library.  You should go pick it up.

I really don't see why any of you care.  After all, they ARE both on gamecube or coming to it, so there really isn't anything to complain about.  Of the two titles that people were sure would win the award, both of them are going to be on gamecube, or already on it.  So we get both sides of the best ^^.

Nintendo Gaming / wavebird?
« on: February 28, 2003, 04:10:33 PM »
Well, the thing that really sucks for me is I have TWO that do this.  And it really doesnt effect anything, it just means you might miss a face off or two a game in nhl 2003 or something to that effect.

Nintendo Gaming / wavebird?
« on: February 23, 2003, 09:53:51 AM »
has anyone noticed that sometimes the wavebirds will just kinda...start skipping about once every 15 minutes? Like, first the wavebird will be fine, then about 15 minutes in it will start like, say your walking in zelda, he will keep stopping then started again in rapid succession.  This seems so annoying to me, because its so bad, and it happens with both my wavebirds.  While the actual "skippage" only does it for about 15 seconds, its really annoying in, say, ssbm, where 15 seconds is a long time.  Are my wavebirds just bad, or what?

actually, first you should try calling nintendo.  they have REALLY nice service people.  My GCN was just about a month over a year old when this started happening, and the lady just extended my warrenty for another month. So i just sent it in, 1 week later, for free, it was back, in black (well, actually its indigo, but...meh)

Nintendo Gaming / Metroid Prime 2
« on: February 15, 2003, 03:53:31 PM »
yes but I actually do notice it when you change the resolution.  In metroid when you move and when anything moves it all seems extremely crisp.  Think about super smash bros melee in 30fps.  Well, I'm not really a graphics whore, but i am a fps whore.  I've played halo, and frankly, the thing that turned me off the most was the way it felt when you got in the vehicles.  It felt like you were controlling the person or car, instead of being the person, or driving the car.  See, when you would turn a car, it felt kinda...sluggish.  And this is because of 30 fps. While it looks great, it feels...not so great.  At least, that's what I thought.

Nintendo Gaming / nintendo starting to compete?
« on: February 15, 2003, 09:36:20 AM »
IMO, the BEST game commecial ever was the first ssb.  I mean, who thinks a bunch of guys including mario, link, and kirby walking along to, we'll always be friends, then having one trip another and then them all fighting each other ISNT the best?

Nintendo Gaming / Eternal Darkness Request
« on: February 14, 2003, 11:14:34 AM »
Ah yes, that scene.  The first time i screamed, the second time my heart arteries clogged up, and the 3rd time it took me 10 minutes to get the courage to go see it again.  It's just...so unexpected.  I mean, there doesnt LOOK like anything is in there, but there might be, and its so dark, and AHHHHHH!

Oh yes though, in my opinion, Eternal Darkness is THE best game on gamecube yet.  Just how the influence of Poe, Lovecraft, and others all come together to become one...hauntingly good game.  Fun stuff ^^. Actually, i wrote a review to it, at the site located below
